Well if it is up to Rave or Whitmer, give it to Rave. I am yet to see or even hear of this guy until I looked at this thread, so I can not judge. You guys are right about looking like a total flop, but hey, until i see a match i can't say anything. But i am kind of bored with all the lariats, so i might not like him too much.

Maybe. I mean I see the apeal and all, but when you first see a really hard lariat or a dude dropped on his head you go "HOLY CRAP! DID YOU SEE THAT GUY GET TOTALLY DROPPED!" but when you see stiff lariats and backdrop drivers like 10 or 15 times during a match it tends to lose it's apeal, for me at least. Other Japanese matches I seem to be fine with though. Tajiri and Muta had an awesome match some time back. But I can't dig into strong style. Let's get one thing straight Morishima IS NOT Strong Style. Strong Style is New Japan, shoot fighter techniques blended in with submission and grappling. Morishima is modified Kings Road, which is the NOAH Style. Kings Road is a brawler style with power head-dropping moves. Modifed Kings Road (NOAH Style) Incorporates a little Strong Style but is still mainly Kings Road. Kings Road = All Japan Strong Style = New Japan Modified Kings Road = Pro Wrestling NOAH

Morishima has fat man boobs, but they fit his body. Joe has complain and/or rude female tits, where they're all hanging down triangularly... yes I've taken the time to notice. And that matters why? Honestly, if they put on a good match, I couldn't care what they loook like I'm just trying to make my point. People are bothered by Morishima as champ.. The same people who tell people they're stupid to judge Joe as 'fat'

I really like whitmer, the ROH fued made him come off as a guy who lives and dies for ROH.
I really think that says a lot about his character. though having the tiny jimmy jacobs scream-o destroy him was eh...

And I'll remain a hater until the pudgy girl loses the belt. Or as long as he isn't booked as OMG UNSTOPPABLE BEAST WITH NON-THREATENING LOOK. Which means he will be

He looks awesome. Pro wrestling's Majin Buu You know I'm not one to care about a wrestler's look, and I usually disagree with those who do, but I just have to make an exception here. I don't care how good he is. I really don't. The dude looks like a hissy fat 15 year old girl. It's the same problem I have with Low-Ki. Yeah, he may hit hard, he may put on great matches, yes he may be that good (and that's probably all that really matters), but I CANNOT take someone seriously if they don't have a good look. At least Joe looks somewhat normal and has some muscle to him underneath his jigglyness. This guy just looks like that fat bully in Kindergarden who jacks kid's puddings. I know I don't follow ROH all that much, but it's no secret that Homicide worked HARD for that title, and after months and months of chasing Dragon and finally winning it, this seems really sucky. It may be due to TNA, but whatever, it just seems really shady. Haha, imagine if WWE signed him. Backstage he would be taking food from other wrestlers. :lol

so from the little my slow computer could muster up from youtube, and the descriptions from you guys, i have been able to say that this guys favorite WCW/NWO revenge character was Hawk Nana and he wanted to be just like him.

BJ Whitmer is ROH's Tommy Dreamer. He won't get the belt until he's in a meaningful feud with a guy who happens to be champ, and that only as a short transition thing. So don't worry about it. And if you know that ROH is not going to pass the belt around except when absolutely necessary like mid-05, why care about a title shot that is 85% chance to be a successful retention?
As soon as the Briscoes were announced as challengers for 2/24 in Chicago, I called the friend I'm going with and said, we're seeing a title change! But now I'm thinking that ROH might book it to pull out all the stops, then have the Briscoes lose. Then each brother gets a shot at Morishima in Japan. Everyone has chased him, he keeps it passed KENTA at Budokan. No one is emerging from the ROH pack in a challenge-less run through the early summer.
And would anyone have a problem with ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe? Jay came up with company, would make a fun heel champ, and then they can continue teaming for a while to make title matches rarer and more important. Builds to Mark turning on Jay at GBH and then a title match at FB.

I don't like the idea of an ROH title changing hands outside of ROH. Totally agreed. See, now this sounds incredibly exciting. Especially the possibility of Matt Sydal becoming ROH Champion.

Wouldn't it be hillarious if Shingo Takagi did win it?

I actually really like the guys look. He looks like a big dumb fat guy who got picked on a lot but now he's going to kick everyones ass and look kind of sad while he's doing it.
The only ROH I get is on YouTube and listening to people talk on this forum, but I really can't support putting your World Title on a guy after about a week, especially when he isn't all that well known. ROH can get away with it because they're a smaller company and everything, and I suppose in the short term its going to be exciting, but just in theory I don't like it.

Damn man, calling Jacobs "spotty" is kinda short sighted. If anything, a lot of his mid-to-late 2006 run showed that he's capable of putting on some of the most sound matches on the shows. Besides, thankfully, his character took another step forward when he went from emo to scream-o recently.
I would mark out for Morishima vs. SHINGO. I would mark out quite loudly. Morishima vs. Albright, too...Albright's ROH's "gun for hire", maybe they slip him a bounty to take out the champ.
As for anyone complaining about Morishima's look, please; this isn't WWE, period. It's what you do, how you perform, and what you're capable of that makes you threatening in a wrestling ring; appearance is a factor, certainly, but a far, far overrated one, one that sadly takes precedence in many people's minds due to how much mainstream wrestling has pounded it into our skulls over the years.
