The main event almost made the ppv worthwhile. I'm as big a Joe fan as anybody.......any sane person with a life, I should say ;D, but I didn't want to see Christian's title reign end so soon.
He's the best "sneaky heel" world champion I've seen in years. He deserves to hold the title for at least another 4-5 months, but Russo will probably have him drop it to some basketball player or nascar driver soon.

I won't flame ya man, it's your opinion. I just didn't enjoy it. I don't mind asking questions after a match, but when the questions I ask give me a headache, that's a problem. Alex Shelley was a cameraman for LAX, so now he's a MEMBER of LAX, to the point that he figures in the decision? Dude is whiter than I am, and I'm nearly transparent. The entire Sting/Abyss thing. I'm sorry, but if you have a heel/face feud, where the face ultimately comes out on top, the heel has to win at some point during the feud. However, Abyss, the TNA guy, has lost two straight gimmick matches, taking all the bumps in both, and I can see no reason for me to give a damn about him now. Not the way to go there, in my opinion. So they bring in the Heartbreakers, for whatever reason, so they can get squashed, so that Kyp and BG can do what exactly? Point to all this? Was there one to begin with? I had no problem with the main event, since Christian won the way a "sneaky heel" shoud win. Plus, the two worked well together. As for elevated X...I HATE scaffold matches. I've seen very few that I've ever enjoyed (maybe 3 in more than 20 years) and this one just flat sucked. The finish, while safer, came off blah, and the structure's bowing and shaking made me spend more time hoping it didn't collaps and seriously injure both guys. Was that the point? Make me forget the feud and say "just let them not get paralyzzed here, just end it fast, so no one gets killed". If so, bravo TNA.

gosh, Joe looks even fatter than last week If I may ask, what is your obsession with Joe and his weight, honestly the guy doesn't look that bad. He's not the first fat Samoan and probably won't be the last. Not too mention he's probably a better athlete than anyone at this board. I'm sorry but anyone who's a better athlete than Joe. Would not be wasting their time posting here.

The concepts on some of this stuff was stupid but I enjoyed the action. What I mean is basically I enjoyed the wrestling which is what I look for. I'm not as into the storylines. I can be at times but when I see wrestling, that's all I pay attention to but yea I understand where you come from as well.

Bad show, with far too many gimmicks and rubbish all round. 'Fire Russo' chant was really loud and audible in the terrible Sting - Abyss match
Main event was very good though, and Christian continues to be a really good, escape by the skin of his teeth champion. It looked exactly how it should have, that he fluked a win after taking a great beating
See what happens when we have a match without gimmicks and just some really good wrestling Russo? A dead crowd comes alive and we end up with a really good entertaining main event

Christian is definitely the best champ in America currently. I hope they draw out his title reign so that it's something really special when he finally loses it.
It'll be like Jarrett's reign, except entertaining and without X-Pac heat.

I'll probably watch the PPV later as it'll be uploaded on either youtube or some other site, but I haven't been into the TNA PPV's as of late, I stopped ordering since Final Resolution. I'm looking forward to Wrestlemania, as both Raw and SD have had very solid shows as of late.

So, I just watched my friend's tape of this. Holy crap that was a worthless PPV with no merit aside from the Christian/Joe match. I really enjoyed that match and I felt that the finish was good too.
Oh, the "Fire Russo" chant rocked.

I thought some of the matches were good (Senshi/Starr, Lynn/Sabin, Angle/Steiner and Joe/Cage) but, the stipulations put on 2 of those and the ending to Cage/Joe (which not all of was shown according to news sites) just ruined it for me.

I wasn't able to see it last night but I'm ordering the encore. I'm Christian mark and hope that his match against Joe is as great as people say it is. Plus I do know about Christian Cage referencing Talladega Nights last night. AWESOME!

My after thoughts:
Dudleyz vs. L.A.X. was pretty exciting. And anyone who thinks Hernandez is just another hoss. Needs to check this one out. He continues to impress me every time I see him. I especially loved the ending with Shelley's involvment. Finally Shelley gets involved in something meaningful. Hopefully this leads to a Paparazzi's vs. Team 3D feud. I wouldn't mind that as long as Nash can go, or they add a meaningful new member.
The Bull rope match was good enough. Although I'm bias for anything involving Petey Williams and Gail Kim so what else would I say? But it was short to the point and told a nice story. I enjoyed the whole back and forth Destroyer attempts by Williams and Storm. Just suprised by no Harris, but Iv'e liked the way their building this feud. Hopefully this is a way to get Willdcat ready for the big time. He's def got the look, and he's a pretty decent wrestler.
I enjoyed the Chicken Wing Match. This match would have been so stupid if it didn't have someone like Senshi and Aries performing it. Good X division match with a decent amount of time. Loved the ending, and wasn't bothered by Backlund's involvment. I mean like everyone else I think he should have a restraining order from the X Division. However continuity is key to me and this was a perfect way to continue the angle.
VKM vs. Hearthrobs w Christy. I thought adding the Hearthrobs, helps more than harms TNA. They needed more tag teams, and the throbs are young and seem talanted enough to be a good fit. And having Christy by their side only helps things. I said To myself as the match is going on, as long as they don't bury them from day one like WWE did, This will be alright. Unfortunetley TNA heard me and doesnt like me. So they jobbed to the New! Age! Outlaws! Now I'm not a VKM hater or anything, but I don't understand why TNA creams itself over them. This would have been a perfect time to put over a new tag team on their debut! of all things. But they didn't, so who knows where this is going?
The X title match was def one of my favorites of the night. I know it probably could have been a lot better. But I really liked it, a good back and forth match. And Lynn proves TNA fans right for once, because he indeed does still got it. Watching him at 43 and realizing he's more awesome than a good portion of wrestlers younger than him. Made me sad to say to myself, man I wish he had caught his big break in the 90's. In the words of Joey Styles: "God forgive me! for admiring hard work and loyalty in this ceas pool of a business!" Daniels apearance was a mark out moment for me. And I'm glad his new look didn't completely dampen his career. Btw when I started that "Future TNA Russo booking plans" thread a week ago. I wish I had called someone interfering in a match wearing a Sting mask. This was another Russo recycable. As I saw Kanyon do this in WCW 2000.
Elavation X was alright. I know it was billed to be awesome beyond belief. But there wasn't much the two could do to make it any better. I think it was good way to add to this feud. And will be good for that and only that in the future. However I'm hoping it's not the near future. Like I said it's a good way to culminate feuds. But like most scaffold matches it should only be braught out years at a time. As for the match itself, it really proved how good AJ and Rhino are. They really used what little they had to make a good story out of this. And I thought the match did that amazingly. Unfortunetly like most, at the beginning I spent most of the time looking away in fear for their lives. But once Rhino was up there and AJ was taunting him and Rhino was doing his thing. I realized that the two were gunna be ok, and you could tell they weren't as nervous any more. The Gore in the center was a really cool spot. And the ending was what it was.
Angle vs. Steiner was pretty decent for what it was. I know most are gonna consider it a disaster. Seeing as how a lot of people thought it would be as good as Joe/Steiner. I'll admit I too expected better. But I wouldn't at all say it was bad, just hopefully we get a better rematch like we did with Kurt and Joe. I would have loved to see the back and forth Recliner/Ankle Lock. But I actually thought the ending was cool because who would of thought Angle/Steiner would end via sunset flip. Contrary to what many might say, I don't believe Steiner botched the ending. I am pretty sure that's the way it was supposed to go.
Now on to what will probably be the most talked about match considering it's epic Fire Russo! chants. But first the match, which I thought for it's entertainment purposes was ok. Some nice spots and really played into Sting and Abyss's characters well. Unfortunetly for TNA I don't speak for everyone. And as much as I will still even defend Russo, There is no defending this. When your most loyal of loyal fans are supposed to be suspending disbelief in this match most of all. And they are calling your main booker out by name none the less. That's when you need to start making some tune ups. I'm a fan of Russo's booking, but as I said in another thread. I'm beginning to realize that TNA isn't the right place for it. I mean you can't blame him. He's just writing how he writes. The problem is his wrestling isn't the same as TNA wrestling or their wrestling fans. They want wrestling, not gimmicks, storylines, and 30 concept matches a ppv. Just wrestling plain and simple. Yet it's beginning to seem too much to ask for a pro wrestling show to be based on gulp... pro wrestling these days. The chant was well deserved, but not for Russo to hear. But Dixie Carter who thinks his booking is suited for a company who made a tiny name for itself by promoting actual wrestling. Now thanks to bad managment decisions those days are long gone. And this all comes from the keyboard of a TNA fan. I'm not saying fire Russo. But for god sakes look at what he's writing, and ask yourself are these fans gonna like it? or are they gunna react violently? I think when a show that was once known for it's amazing X division matches, now has caskets coming down from celings, fake tombstones, and candelight vigil designs. These things are easier than others to pick out.
Now for the highlight of the night. The main event. This to me seemed to be an example of many good things. First and most unexpected is Russo's booking. Russo will tell you if you ask him. Honestly he will. That it seems like there is a book to booking wrestling. His philosophy is to throw away the book and create and element of suprise. Now I know this has been disasterous for him and mostly us in the past. But if that's what he was aiming for in this one, he nailed it. See the way he likes to do it is like he plays by the book the whole time. Then when it's time for the ending that's when he makes changes.
This match seemed to do just that. And the streamers absolutely added to it. Which is great because that's something you can't book. Now going into this night I didnlt see Joe winning. But once I saw Joe's entrance I was saying to myself, it's official Joe is the new champ. Then the streamers came and I said even if he wasn't they'll make sure he does now. Then during the match Cage tries escaping and a bunch of generic stars come out and throw him back in the ring. Not too mention Christian had no one backing him. This had every element of the big face's first title win, after all the heel champs plans backfire. Iv'e seen this all happen 1000 times and usually the face always comes out on top. Pretty much the whole match I didn't see Cage winning at all.
Then at the end like clockwork. The book was thrown away and Cage wins with the old leg on the ropes. Normally when I see the leg on the ropes I'm disgusted. But this time I was so happy to see it, and actually didn't see it coming. I wanted Christian to win without ending Joe's credibilty. And this was done perfectly. The leg on the ropes plus the ref being out of position when Joe hit the Island Driver. Not only let Joe keep his credibility ,but Christian keeps his too, and is put over as a heel tremendously. And most of all earns him a spot as credible champion.
Joe's victory should be booked as monumnetal. He is IMO got all the tools to be the future of the company. I just think he had no momentum going into this one. And it would have been a tiny failure of a title reign if it began now. Christian to me is perfect to remain champion. To me he's not a WWE castoff but a guy who WWE could have done a lot with and chose not too. In fact late in his WWE career he was getting a pretty decent sized face ovation. And as I read Vince noticed but said "regardless I don't see anything in him." And after hearing this he was moved to SD! where he was jobbed out on a regular basis. Now he's in TNA where his talent is reconized and I love it. People (myself included) have complained for years that Vince refuses to push guys with history in other companies. I think that it can be done without hurting your own companies credibility. And Christian in TNA is proof of how much that is so.
The match itself was match of the night. Not only enertainment wise, but wrestling wise as well. Joe was awesome and did some cool new stuff I haven't seen before. And anyone who thinks Christian is over rated as a wrestler should see this match. He proves that you don't have to do 9 450 splashes and 20 Emarald Fusions to have a good match.
I thought Destination X was TNA's most solid ppv since Bound For Glory. I know it's not saying much but that's how I felt. Muta's appearance was the most I've marked out in a long time. And I can't wait to see where this is going.
Now I know after reading all this I you probably think I'm just another mindless TNA droan. But here's an explanation. I like TNA better than WWE it's a fact. I caught on to them in the summer through YouTube and said to myself... "Why be disapointed by WWE all the time when over on Spike there's a show that actually encourages good wrestling instead of loathing it?" Now that's all been changed. And I'll have you know that I'm not happy about it either. But to me I still like it more than WWE and haven't given up yet. But I will be the fist to tell you as a TNA fan, it isn't easy for me either to be watching them with my head constantly in my hands shaking it. But I will not give up that easly. I was a WWE mark for the last 12 years. It's gonna take a whole heck of a lot more to chase me a way haha.

Has Sting ever hit the Stinger Splash against the guard rail spot? Haha I was just telling someone the other day how I still mark for this. But I'll raise your a question with one of my own. Will Stone Cold ever hit the piledriver on the floor. answer: he did on Angle.
