If their going to get some more smaller wrestlers, maybe they should consider pushing these people first: Super Crazy Little Guido Jamie Noble Funaki Jimmy Wang Yang Scotty 2 Hotty Davari Shannon Moore Gregory Helms (Now that he's lost his title, hopefully he'll go up to US title status) I imagine they figure(and they are probably right) that they have buried these guys for so long that no amount of pushing cane make the average fan care about them. Just a guess on my part.

I am confused as to why they suddenly are considering Jado and Gedo now, when both are nearly 40, instead of like 5 years ago. I never liked Gedo I still can't believe he made it to the finals of the 95' Super J Cup. It should have Liger/Pegasus instead of Liger/Gedo People who hate Jado and Gedo have not seen their work from 2002-present. they are one of the best tag teams in the world

I hope this is true.
I wonder if some ROH guys will end up being signed too, those who don't have any contracts with other companies (ie Roderick Strong).

I doubt Strong will, as he is one of the most in-demand indy guys. But I never would have said both CM Punk and Ace Steel would sign wit the E, so never say never

WWE can sign whoever they want. It doesn't matter if they won't let them wrestle.
Seriously. WWE has had the Light Heavyweight/Crusierwright division since 97', and in 10 years I can't name one great match or memorable moment.

I think it maybe true. They actually gave good time for the Chavo Guerrero/Scotty 2 Hotty match, which I thought was gonna be a squash (saying that Scotty was in the match), but it was a good, competitive match, and it added something to the division.

We already have enough jkobbers.
Despite that, I would enjoy seeing La Parka again.

They should also consider signing me, El Dandy and my best friend, Silver King.

I think it maybe true. They actually gave good time for the Chavo Guerrero/Scotty 2 Hotty match, which I thought was gonna be a squash (saying that Scotty was in the match), but it was a good, competitive match, and it added something to the division. That match was boring as hell to me. Did Chavo really need to do like 7 minutes worth of submission holds in the middle of that match? And it's not a matter of just getting screen time, the Cruisers need to be allowed to do the moves that the hosses and main-eventers don't do, otherwise whats the point? The WWE is stuck in the 80's definition of an exciting high-flyer - dropkicks, crossbodies, and if we're lucky, a plancha or suicide dive. And the 'E is just continuing the same crap they did with Helms run. Chavo's match with Scotty was non-title (if he was gonna win anyway, does it matter?) and he's a frickin' heel. Why not give it to a "good guy". Teasing a Chavo-Helms match. Heel/Heel. I don't mind them wrestling, 'cause I know it will be a solid match, but I have a feeling the live audience will be sitting on their hands and that brings down the energy and excitement of the match to me.

It makes me miss having guys like Tajiri and Kidman in the WWE, they regularly had good Cruiserweight matches, back when they seemed to give a damn about the title. I hope they do devote more time to the division, but I can see most of the new guys just being lost in the shuffle, like Noble/Moore/Yang etc are currently.

You know what's weird?
Back in the day, everyone talked about how the Crusierweight Division in the WWE wasn't being used, and I think this is back in 2002-2004. I probably did too. But if you look back at pay per views and shows from there, you'll find that the Crusierweight Title was a big deal back then, especially compared to now.

I remember a great (it may have been the only one) light heavyweight championship match between Dean Malenko and Scotty 2 Hotty at Backlash 2000. Does anyone else remember this match? Any thoughts?

It wasn't so much a big deal back then (other than a few times, like the Matt/Rey feud). But at least it was consitantly on PPVs. It was nowhere near as important as it was in WCW, but it wasn't 100% ignored like the LHW was, and the CW title has been in the past couple years.

Yeah this was a decent match, mainly due to the awesomeness of Malenko. A couple of friends and I watched that PPV again the other day and were surprised at how good that match was, and how over Scotty was.
