I marked so hard for heel Word Life Cena. It was my favorite charecter in all of wrestling at that time. I even have the first Cena t-shirt, the Word Life ringer shirt, in my closet to prove it. The second I knew he was doomed was when right before Survivor Series 2003, I think it was Michael Hayes, had him FU Chris Benoit, who was one of his partners on Team Angle, after they had cleared the ring of Team Lesnar on Smackdown. But the call was made to edit that from the broadcast because they thought it would confuse the fans. If they would have left the element of tension between Cena and his partners, all would have been well. He only joined the team to get his hands on A-Train I believe, anyway. But they took the tension away and he became just another happy go lucky babyface that eventually morphed into what we have now. Michael Hayes tried guys, he tried.

If he woulda kept on with the tweener thing he would prolly be alot bigger today.
I remember I thought he was gonna be the next Austin type star in mid 03-mid 04...

Oh yeah, I remember in mid 2003 or so having conversations with my friends about how Cena was starting down the Austin path, while Randy Orton was on the Rock path. They were both starting to get over with fans, even while being heels and it seemed to be only a matter of time before they both took off as the next big, mainstream type stars. But stuff was done to each of them that knocked them right off their paths.

I bought his Word Life DVD just for all of his old promos. Like his one's against Brock and Taker. He was great then, but now Word Life >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> My Time Is Now

Yeah I didn't realize how good Cena was until the horrid Supermarine Cena started to happen and he became so dull! Seriously! I just wish he would get some sort of edge to his gimmick again it's just boring listening to a guy who has nothing to say.
However back than I was more into Evolution and I really liked Orton and thought he was great especially the Orton-Foley fake PSA's brillant! Orton also was much better on the mic than and just seemed like the HHH feud took all confidence away from him. I just don't get why they did that? I mean the face Orton wasn't terrible it was salvageable in my opinion with some tweeking he could have been just as fine before.
But as Cena goes a pre-emptive heel turn would be good so people would still care that he turned heel, because the boos are creeping back and something has to be done a Word Life to me should come back!

Basic Thuganomics is better...at least Cena does most of the song. It seems like Trademarc does most of My Time is Now.
Cena could come up with clever promos as a heel.

I miss heel rapper Cena.
He's just a version of the Miz at the moment.
