Dammit this is what pisses me off about WWE. They have the biggest event of the year on Sunday and all these guys that aren't already booked for a match aren't important and are just thrown in to a big old pot and they crap out a battle royal. Dammit Vince at least give Londrick a match on the card. Or throw in Chavo-Helms and all the other cruiserweights in a match. That way we stll get 10 matches. I remember when Mania had 13 matches every year and every wrestler had a match on the card.

Unreal. Is the card that stacked already? Because it sure as hell doesn't feel like it.
I'm glad I'm not spending $50 for this.

WM is four hours, with eight matches. Couldn't they just squeeze this in the broadcast and take away a 30 minute Vince promo?

The dark battle royal was funny last year. Viscera humbled Mercury and Nitro at the same time. Tazz: "Not the brokeback spot!"

They should just make this the first match on the card.

Yeah, but by putting wrestlers in WrestleMania, isn't that like promoting and validating the hard work they've been doing all year?

I don't really want 13 matches on a card... i think in the olden days, with 9 matches on a show, that was too much. You get a lot of junk, or you get ugly booking like the entire WM2000 card; where EVERYONE is on the card. It's more special to just have a select group of wrestlers on the card. Besides, Cruiserweight Invitationals and Tag Team Gauntlets last maybe 10 minutes MAX, and have 8-10 guys just hitting their top spots... that's worthless to me.

Seems silly to have it as a dark match.
Why not have it on the pre Mania heat or something?

So why not have regular Cruiserweight Title and WWE Tag Title matches? It's too late now for the Tag Titles I suppose (no storyline at all), but they just had Yang beat Guerrero clean non-title on Smackdown, he should get a title shot. Seems silly to have it as a dark match. Why not have it on the pre Mania heat or something? They don't do live Heats anymore, do they?

Why? Why a dark match?! This would really enhance and help fill out a thin card. There's only 8 matches, a 9th actual-show match would be a big improvement. We need at least 10 matches, 8 feels like a regular PPV. They can't spend half an hour on every match OK, factor in the 2 rap performance pissbreaks, backstage skits, video packages, it still works out at 15-20 minutes per match. Suppose the women's gets 5, and Kane/Khali 5, then the main events get around half an hour. It still feels too thin. But I guess they felt 2 rap performances would get mroe buys than an actual match.

There hasn't been a PPV night Heat match since ...Backlash 2006 it seems. SummerSlam 2005 seems to be the last "major ppv" that had a Heat match.

IIRC, there hasn't been a WM edition of Heat since WM20, when it was just a recap show (hosted by Josh Matthews and that chick Rue, who he ended up marrying).

At any rate, I guess if they insist on having this as a dark match they must have some extra unannounced Mania stuff planned. An extra match or two, the return of someone, Piper's pit or something like that.

All they ever gave us DISH network peeps was a pre-show from a studio. We never really got HeAT. It was funny when we had cable though - being on the West Coast, everything airs 3 hours later. So, HeAT on MTV would be coming on at 7:00 PST, just when the Main Event was on the horizon. I never got to watch HeAT back then.
