Its about time. Mr. Perfect was, well, perfect. One of the all time greats to never become a main eventer anywhere he worked.
And his music is one of the top 3n all time musics, up there with Undertaker's and the Four Horseman theme.
And while it will more than likely be Heenan or maybe Flair if someone else inducts Dusty, I would love to see Bret Hart do the induction. Based on Bret's DVD, he had nothing but great things and great respect to say about Hennig.

Yeah, I could see Bret breaking his "won't work with WWE" rule for one night only to honor Curt. He really does sound like he loved the guy to death.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
*Marks out totally*
I think it'll be his dad tbh, but it'd be nice to see Hart do it. Maybe Larry will collect the award, and Hart could induct.

good to see him get in... was a superb wrestler and a damn fine heel too (I hated him when i was young and then loved his stuff with flair when i was old enough and thus cool enough to cheer the bad guys ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) )

You got that right! Show of hands; who marked out when Mr. Perfect's music started playing? *raises hand proudly* And I also read that a Mr. Perfect DVD is slated for release sometime this year. Hell yeah, this is starting out a good week for wrestling fans. you know except for Mike Awesome dying Before I post what I was going to say, man I hope you get things fixed with your girlfriend. I think showing her your sig might help things out ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) . J/k. And it is sad that Mike Awesome passed away. Thought about that for 30 minutes at work tonight. But the fact that Perfect is getting inducted into the Hall Of Fame, and plus us fans will get a PERFECT DVD! I'm can say this news excites me and gets me pumped. The only time I really loved it when Perfect lost was when he fought the Texas Tornado for the IC title at SummerSlam 90. I was such a Tornado mark, and the way Perfect sold the Tornado in that match was 5 stars and perfect in itself. I also loved it when beat Mongo on WCW Nitro for the US title. That was a great moment because I felt like WCW was doing something right, and Perfect could be built up to world title status with a good reign as the US champ, but that never happened. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) Any one know when the dvd is set to be released? ;D ;D ;D

Sympathy ploy! Mr. Perfect never won a World Championship and he was a druggie, I'm sorry to say. Guaranteed that not a soul in the locker room past or present hasn't dabbled in something and as far as him never having won a world championship it wasn't for lack of deserving it. He was at his peak when Hogan ruled the roost and championships by anybody else were hard to come by. Not giving him a title run was a huge mistake on Vince's part...giving him a HOF induction is right so very very right. Your comment was about as imperfect as they come but you're entitled to your say.

This is great news. I am, and have always been, a huge fan of Mr Perfect. I had the honor of being live at the 2002 Rumble for his comeback and I marked like a little boy, it was great. Can't wait for the DVD, and I REALLY hope Heenan inducts him.

This is excellent news.
On a side note, does anybody look at those clips of his early AWA stuff and think he looks like a more muscular Danny Noonan?

I am happy to see this. He was a great in the ring and great on the mic. I think he could have been a great heel world champion but between being in the right place but wrong time(with Hogan as champ) and his injuries, it wasnt meant to be, but he still was one of the best.

In regards to Perfect never winning the WWF title, I think people may not fully realize how big of a deal the IC title was in the '80's and '90's. Think about this: in one stretch, the title went from: Tito Santana, to Randy Savage, to Ricky Steamboat, to Honky Tonk Man, to Warrior, to Rick Rude, back to Warrior, and then to Hennig. That's a Hall of Fame list by itself. From April 1990 to August 1991, Hennig held the title for approximately 13 months (with a loss to Von Erich in between). That's a HUGE deal. The IC title back then was 1A (with the world title being "1" obviously). It was a springboard for a main event push in the future. Now, I don't think Hennig was ever going to be WWF champion, but his injury in 1991 and the move to the New Generation in 1993 made it impossible for him to ever get to that point.
Regardless, him not winning the World Title in the Hogan Era is not a travesty. His IC title run was a major point in his career and a big reason why the mid-card in the '90's stayed afloat.
Well deserved. I have an old WWF Superstars tape from 1993 that has the entire clip of Perfect throwing a football pass to himself. I really really wish I knew how to transfer VHS tapes into the computer.

Question: Will he be inducted simply as "Mr. Perfect", or with the WWF do the right thing and induct him under his name Curt Hennig? Preferably "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig.

I really really wish I knew how to transfer VHS tapes into the computer. He didn't need the WWF World title. In addition to the IC title, he had already held the AWA World and tag team titles. He would later go on to WCW and win the U.S. and tag team titles as well. That's a fine resume.
