I enjoyed this Rumble and the whole ppv was really good. From the Dudleys/Hardys table match to the HHH\Cactus street fight to the Rumble itself. It even featured the WWF debut of Taz and he choked out Kurt Angle in his 1st match. Angle was new at the time but had an undefeated streak up to that point.
Rikishi was indeed over and so was Too Cool. The heel turn against the Rock hurt him alot. Fans didn't really care too much about him after that. Test was over big also from the Stephanie/HHH storyline but that heat fizzled out pretty quickly because he was basically made to look weak by the end.

"There's two people that the Rock is worried about in this Rumble, two people that might give the Rock trouble, the first one is....Crash Holly, and the second one is...Headbanger Mosh, and if the Rock can get by those 2, then he just might win"
Man the Rock was on fire back then, lol.

I remember the finish from this rumble, with Rock & Big Show both going out (well, technically), but I don't remember too much of the rest of the Rumble, probably because of the awesomeness that was HHH v. Cactus in the street fight, the match that legitimized HHH as a true main eventer and one of the greatest in my mind.

Watching Bossman come out in his heel character made me think back to all the pushes he got and all the big matches he had and how I realized right here and now (actually watching the taped RR 2k that I taped as i type) that WWE or wCw dropped the ball when they didn't make BBM a nasty, southern, crazy heel cop. He could have used Bull Buchanon as his officer and he could have been the sheriff and they could do crazy stuff against guys they didn't like FOR NO REASON just because he was a maniacal madman. And if he were to tuck tail and run like a coward when pressed with confrontation (like he did briefly in this here Rumble) it would totally paint him to be a great heel.
Not to say he wasn't a fine heel already.

Ray Traylor was such a great heel. I remember how much I hated him back then, and now I have nothing but respect for his greatness as a heel.

Wtf was with Headbanger Mosh's attire?
I smell a violation of the 7-year Cornette rule...
