I think HBK was basically saying that nobody that has come along since them has been as good as their hype. Seeing as how they have been around for quite some time that was quite an insulting statement.

I was thinking Lesnar for some reason, because he talked about guys that left. Then I was thinking maybe Joe, because I'm sure Don West and Mike have said something along thouse lines about Joe.

Hey, what if Jesus Christ was a CM Punk fan? Man, that'd be classic. You assume he isnt? Well, there is that whole communion wine issue...

Yeah I think that was it, he's face the so-called future superstars but none of them have actually become a superstar & he's still waiting to make this future superstar, lol yeah very insulting.

I got the idea of what they were trying to say, that whole "OMG BEST EVAR YOUNG GUYZ" thing that gets overplayed is annoying...but they way they came across was best expressed earlier in this thread. They're the glass ceiling. You're great up and comers...until you face them. Then you're a bunch of hacks. Now honestly I can't even muster up the energy to get 'angry' at the WWE anymore, but it did make me go when they went on their little tirade. I mean...as much as it pains me to admit it, one of those 'young up n comers' is the current champ on Raw. As to those that bailed on the E, I figured they were taking a shot at Brock. Why would they take a crap on Punk? Why stir up "OMG" controversy where there is none, other than it's just HBK that's holding the mic? Calm down intarnets, at this point in time I don't think even a straight out diss by Trips and Shawn could slow down Punks momentum. Now Punk sticking his face into Steph's cleavage and going "WAWAWAWAWAWA" might affect his chances.

Also thought he was talking about VKM indirectly, and maybe taking a shot at Hogan with the "in-ring performer" part, still if you can draw a huge crowd then I'd say you've got it, no matter how good or bad you are in the ring.

I thought they were taking about VKM in parts and Samoa Joe (best in ring guy of his generation) in parts.

I first thought it was Angle....but now, here's who I think it was about.
The Rock
Think about it, they had the Hogan subtle hint showing his match versus Andre....while the rumor is that Big Show will face Hogan at WM23.
HBK vs. The Rock at Wrestlemania 23. Never seen it before, considered the greatest (WWE) wrestler/sports etertainer of this generation by many, it makes sense.
WWE is still needing 30,000 people to sell out Ford Field, they every marqee name they can get. The Rock would be in the top three easy.
I gurantee you that the E wants him back for Wrestlemania 23 and I think they could woo him into doing it.

'Twas one of their better promos, indeed a shot at VKM.

Not that it would ever happen in a million years (and considering how few credible faces the WWE has), but WWE could slowly turn DX heel by having them run with they "Younger guys aren't sh*t compared to us angle" and have it lead to an idea mentioned by someone else on this board a while back: CM Punk eliminating HHH and HBK at Royal Rumble, and HHH and HBK get pissed off and try and degrade CM Punk and tell him he is a nobody compared to them. DX could eventually bury the hatchet with Team Rated RKO and form a super heel stable set on establishing their dominance and keeping up-and-comers down. Then CM Punk and a group of (departure from reality in 5...4...) faces from the 3 brands attempt to challenge the DX/RKO stable, leading to a Survivor Series match (3...2...) in which CM Punk's team and the heel stable face off in, with Punk's team debuting a mystery teammate (1..), who would just so happen to be (you have officially left reality) BROCK LESNAR! Lesnar and Punk survive the match and are victorious.
I know I know, the above scenario has no chance in hell of taking place, but the thinking about it makes me mark out like a little kid. Would be a great way to really get over faces that need fan support (Lashley, Carlito if he starts giving a crap about wrestling again, pretty much anyone forced to job to DX in 2006), would make me care about DX again (don't hate them as faces, but both HHH and HBK are more entertaining as heels), and if nothing else it would mean Brock Lesnar is back. I really bought into the idea of him being "The Next Big Thing" and wish he and the WWE had parted on better terms so that a return might be possible. Anyway, I'm done dreaming up impossible angles for the night.

Sounds like it's a "we're the standard bearer" promo. I like the idea of the slow heel turn though. They've kicked all the heels arses already so maybe that's where they need to go next. A good version of the new blood angle would go down a treat I reckon.

I will not manage to support OveratedBK and Triple B(B for Boring) that way.

I think he was just ranting for no reason whatsoever, like always. When they came out and got on the mic and started talking I left the room and then 3 or so minutes later I came back and they were still rambling on and on. I tried to figure out what they were talking about but it seemed to just be nonsense so I tuned it out eventually.

I thought he meant Rock. Mainly because it was followed with the comment about people not being here anymore.

Honestly I thought he meant The Rock, "I'm still waiting to face THAT guy" due to Rock's refusal to come back and work a "dream match" against HBK, and he's not there anymore anyway.
