As previously noted, New Japan President Simon Inoki had a meeting with John Laurinaitis on 12/14 in Stamford, CT. WWE's web site posted that Antonio Inoki meet with WWE officials, but apparently he joined the conversion by phone. The two promotions discussed doing talent exchanges, but it doesn't appear New Japan has anyone WWE is interested in. New Japan expressed an interest in using lesser used talents such as Val Venis and wrestlers from Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South.
With Antonio Inoki interested in raising capital to buy New Japan from the Yukes, the meeting to secure WWE talent was likely to impress potential investors.

I don't see how this would hurt WWE. Allow some of their younger guys and underused vets to gain experience and some additional money. NJPW might not have anyone right now, but who knows who may break out there and could come to the WWE.

I have said it before I want to see Shinsuke Nakamura or Minoru. Either one would be awesome. Tanahashi would be pretty badass to.

As I understand, Venis used to wrestle internationally.

Back when Orton was in hot water, the WWE was talking about shipping him over to Japan. Could this still happen?

I would love if every few months or so they'd have a New Japan match on the WWE PPV's. Bring my fellow Irishmen Pegasus Kid II over!

As I understand, Venis used to wrestle internationally. Yeah, but it wasn't the sort that you show on TV.

Back before Val debuted, when they were just showing Promos for him, I met him at Legends in Philly after a RAW. I asked if he wrestled anyplace else and he said in Japan under a hood and his name was Steel ( No not Jungle Jim). I think he said it was New Japan, but I don't remember anybody named Steel in New Japan.

Minoru, Tanahashi, and Nakamura are the only guys I can see "make a name" for themselves in WWE. Nakamura has size and abilitiy. Tanahashi is basically Ricky The Dragon Steamboat but as dull as randy orton, with the amazing abs. and Minoru is also a cute guy.

The two promotions discussed doing talent exchanges, but it doesn't appear New Japan has anyone WWE is interested in. credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter I am surprised that everyone isn't reacting violently to that.

Back when Orton was in hot water, the WWE was talking about shipping him over to Japan. Could this still happen? Inflicting Orton on Japan would be the worst thing America could do to that country since those atomic bombs got dropped on them.
