So... they wanted to hire Goldust back to push him as a megaheel, while they have guys like Nitro, Regal, Benjamin and Masters doing squat?

HOWEVER I do kinda hope this still happens...Goldust in the main event could be interesting, even if the mystique of the character has kinda been ruined by all the comedy face runs. AND it is a few years too late...

Yeah I just don't believe the "mega heel" part of this. Especially since his comeback match was going to be in an 8-man comedy tag match involving Doink, Eugene, and Kamala...

It's probably true, but we don't have too much right to complain about people not getting pushed or not getting airtime at all, if we're ready to mark out for the 1514th comeback of a Superstar that has already given almost all he had... Give these guys a chance, a real chance (not the 2 months IC title with no feud behind it), and see if they can out-pop a midcarder from 10 years ago... If they still can't get a decent reaction, then bring Tom Zenk and Paul Roma in...

Ugh. Bringing him back for the fifth time. Why bother?
And pushing him as a megaheel to fight Cena and Triple H? BS. I don't think that's true, and even if it was, I doubt it would end up doing anything.

Who are you saying why to? Was it me? Nah, I was just questioning WWE's motives for bringing him back.

10 years ago? Try almost 20. Goldust, or in actuality, Dustin, has been wrestling for at least a decade and a half, perhaps much longer. I think he needs one last run to make some money, then retire. I just don't want to see him do what I think he's gonna do...:-(

The Wrestling Obersver Newsletter said Goldust was offered a contract by WWE to come back as a mega-heel. Initially, he would have paired off in the tag match tonight as a face at SNME and it would have been an 8-man tag (Kamala would have been on the heel side). He then would have entered into a program with Santino Marella for the IC title. Had he gotten over, he could have worked programs with Cena and HHH. He backed out of SNME citing his back was in too much pain. This pisses me off. One of the main things I've wanted is Goldust back in his best role, a mega heel, and wearing the IC title. A main-event push against the likes of Cena and HHH would have been heaven for me. Something about this and him backing out of an indie show. THis just seems weird, I hope he's not in a depression and if he is I hope WWE gives him the help he needs.

I don't buy it. Number one, it came from WO. Number two it makes no sense that all of a sudden now they are going to put him in the Main Events after all these years. Number three, see the other thread about him. I call bs.

Goldust should only return as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble.
That is the only way I can except it.

I don't buy it, but hypothetically speaking, Goldust would work as a main eventer if he acted like he did back when he first debuted.
In all seriousness though, it's his baby brother's time to shine. Very little experience, but he's got the skills, charisma, and looks to succeed (if you see Cody, you would not believe that he is related to Dusty and/or Dustin)

I know he has problems but I know any main event run with Goldust would be like they're doing with Snitsky and Khali with Cena. First they would build him as a monster, put him in a main event feud with Cena, taps out to STFU, keep him as monster for a while and have HHH feud with him upon returning, HHH pedigrees and beats Goldust, and off to Heat he goes, only to be released shortly after.

I'd like to believe it, because Goldust would make me watch Raw on a regular basis again. He's brilliant on the microphone, and he can handle himself in the ring. Unfortunately, he seems to be in a downward spiral.

Christ, its 2007 and they not only want to use Goldust and Kamala but also push Goldust to the main event?
Has to be a joke.

Why not push Goldust? He is a consistantly over, can do comedy and serious, heel or face.
It's a shame that he is injured or whatever, or on crack etc. cos i would have happily paid to see Goldust back and upper level.
ps, BHB, small world or what.

I wish Goldust was hired. He could give Lashley the "Lance Storm" treatment, how cool would that be?
