Results from the Mike Awesome Memorial Tournament
Round 1
Masato Tanaka vs Sabu
Sabu is found unconcious backstage. Hardcore Holly comes out to replace him. Tazz says "F*** this, not again." and enters the ring, choking out Holly, and faces Tanaka instead. Tanaka wins via the Diamond Dust to advance after a short 4 minute match, as Tazz wasn't willing to take many bumps. (See I keeps this real)
Stevie Richards vs Tommy Dreamer
Stevie pulled off the upset win, pinning Dreamer after a Steviekick.
RVD vs Sandman
Great match which saw RVD pin Sandman with a splash from the top of a ladder, through a table (But since the game refused to actually do the Five Star, had to hit the Money Shot instead.)
Cactus Jack vs Mikey Whipwreck
The former ECW tag team champions faced off in the first round, as Cactus simply brutalized Mikey and pinned him with a Double Arm DDT.
Round 2
Masato Tanaka vs Stevie Richards
Tanaka made short work of the underdog, Richards, ending his championship hopes by pinning him after a running elbow smash to the face.
Rob Van Dam vs Cactus Jack
Cactus advances to face Tanaka in the finals after driving Van Dam through a table with an elbowdrop off a ladder.
FINALS: Masato Tanaka vs Cactus Jack
Tanaka became the new champion in the most fitting way possible; pinning Cactus Jack after an Awesomebomb through a table.

I just bought the new gamesmaster magazine (UK) and they had a 4 page preview Looks pretty good, unfortunatly not much has been said (New roster, Season etc) So just like last year, which means just like last year, we'll be disappointed in those departments Oh no it's still early days yet After Summerslam (The cut off date) we'll probably get the roster update.

And the fact that its flat out people that weigh X cant lift X with no middle ground what so ever. I liked how Day of Reckoning ( i think) pulled it off where there was a chance you could still pull the move off if they were out of your weight class. They also did that in No Mercy. You still had a chance to do the move and if you hit it, your spirit(?) meter would shoot up like crazy. That is actually one of the problems I have with No Mercy. Using a super heavyweight is completely pointless in that game, since you lose almost all of your spirit if the person grabs you once.

Shame you didn't record it for Youtube, I would have liked to have seen that.

After playing SvR 07 for a few months now I think they only need to do a few things to make everyone happy- 1. Fix the AI. One on one, the game rocks. But in a tag match, or a fatal 4 way or an Elimination chamber, it's like you're playing with multiple Eugenes. 2. Custom soundtracks. Why the hell not? (also more moves/better animations) 3. Better CAW stuff. No more stupid patterns and eyebrows. Better plain tight designs and hairstyles. 4. A complete updated roster. La Resistance were tag champs for a long ass time and they never got in a game. Same with Londrick. WTF? Just make a legends game already. I'd buy it! Unfortunately, those seem to be the exact things that the producers constantly ignore or screw up. I swear, they look at complaints and suggestions and all they see in everyone's posts are "Everything's great, keep up the good work and don't change a thing!" Ledesma and crew should think about running for office. Y'know, after reading this month's GameInformer, I realize now who should have the WWE license. EA. And not just EA, but EA Chicago. Studio GM Kudo Tsunoda gets it. He said in the mag that one of the things that works for the Fight Night series is that boxing isn't like most other sports where it has a regular season. Neither does wrestling, and not being held down to such a yearly release sced would help the series tremendously. Hopefully, WWE wises up to that conceit, decides to make sure the next SDvR game is perfect in execution, and pulls the license from THQ.

I'd also have liked to see that YouTubed. I love how you used Taz, and Tanaka was the right man to win, thinking about it. Geat way to win as well.

Thanks guys glad you liked my booking. I don't really have a way of youtubing it, no capture card, and if I filmed it with my webcam it'd look like ass.

My favorite thing about the game is the GM Mode, but I hope it changed some this year. Hopefully you'll be able to have a bigger roster instead of just 20.

I mean, how are they going to make more Melina 3D posters if they've got to take time out of the development cycle to change a number in the engine? You got to get your priorities straight, man! [/ledesma] Now THAT was sarcasm! Yeah, 24/7 Mode is the replacement. You probably won't have to worry much about the number of wrestlers as you probably won't have much control over such things.

Don't worry about the tiresome process of trying to decide what move to execute, either. THQ/Yukes has finally decided to listen to the fans demands, and decided to bring back the grapple system of a classic WWF title from a classic Nintendo system. Sadly, the game in question is Super WrestleMania from the SNES, where every wrestler had a headbutt, suplex, bodyslam, clothesline, hiptoss, punch, kick, stomp, and elbowdrop. That's it. Enjoy! (NEWZ!!! or........IS IT?!)

Randy Orton places a huge metal lock on your chin...set the controller down for 5 minutes cause you ain't moving any time soon. Hit Umaga, and half eaten fish and raw pigs fly out of him.... Lashley throws you into a huge bathtub and you come out looking like Mr Hankey.... MONEY!

Nah, Cena would FU his opponent WHILE FUing a building. Then he locks the STFU in the oponent and in the building and they both tap out.

Undertaker still throws tombstones at you, he just throws them much slower than before. All of the Divas take off their clothes to distract you from the fact that their only move is a hiptoss. But really, think of the actual things the wrestlers could do: Carlito spits an apple at you like Reptile's acid spit. Masters actually puts you in a Masterlock. RVD rolls you up into a spliff and smokes you. The possibilities are terrible!
