Hmmm, if we're talking about stars losing their push on RAW.... What about HHH? I remember his push going down when he lost to Batista THREE TIMES. Sounds like a burial to me. HHHaters, you've been outted. I don't hate him and a point could be made that was his good friend, so he wouldn't mind doing that for him. Just that the Booker.T/HHH feud was very one-sided in Trips favor.

There's the one-sided feud with Booker T.
HHH and HBK destroyed the Spirit Squad, and the entire tag team division in the process.
He totally killed Eugene's momentum.
He was simply handed a new belt when they made champions for both Raw and SD. No match. No rhyme or reason. Just "HHH needs a belt. Here ya go!".
HHH was interjected into numerous storylines that he had no business being a part of back when HHH was in the "Superchamp" position Cena is in now. People weren't posting "Spoiler: HHH Wins!" on these boards for nothing.
And while he may not be head booker, the fact that he's banging the boss's daughter gives him enormous influence on the booking committee, both direct and implied. I will guarantee you he gets 1000% more say on how his storylines are handled than 99.9% of the rest of the roster.
I'm not saying that HHH is satan. But at the same time, he has done more than his share of holding guys down and protecting his spot (even though the fact that he's married to stephanie pretty much cements his spot anyway.......at least until the divorce.)

Wait, you're saying that HHH's run of superman was because of his backstage pull and NOT just because he was the guy the company felt it was best to push?
In that case John Cena would also have to be sleeping with the family...
It's just a push, you use other people to make other people look significantly better.

That's true, I won't say it was due to his marriage with Steph as he was World Champ 2 times in 99 long before they got together. I just can't see the explanation behind the Booker.T feud, Book looked like a total tool after that feud, I mean Trips underestimated him, didn't take him seriously and beat him clean and that was that. Horrible,IMO.

Me personally, I think Mr. Kenney is gonna get buried the worst. He has the most potential to be a breakout star on RAW. Worst haiku ever.

Still, Booker T was probably the only WCW guy to get a main-event feud. And he DID win the WHC last year, while he had been over even after the "burial" The tag team division was on life support YEARS before D-X 2006 surfaced. The Spirit Squad was there for comedy purpose, and for getting squashed. Or were we supposed to buy them as legit Champs? Eugene will NEVER be as over as he was during his feud with Triple H. If you will, Triple H "lowered himself" to feud with a comedy relief newcomer. HHH got the belt because he was the most "logical" choice for a RAW champ, since Lesnar was exclusive to SD!. And it made even more sense in kayfabe: corporate champion.

What sort of promotion would ram A HEEL down people's throats for 3 years without said heel having backstage pull?

Kevin Kelly stated outright in a radio interview last year, that Booker was originally booked to win the belt. But Hunter and Stephanie spent the last couple of weeks before 'Mania doing everything they could to convince Vince that it was a bad idea. They eventually got him to change his mind.
Rob Van Dam was also slated to get the belt during his feud with Hunter, but the same thing happened there too.

I guess HHH's "defenders" forgot about 2002-2003:
RAW is HUNTER!!!!!!

It's also important to note that, whether he had backstage pull (via Shawn Michaels) or not, HHH was already a four-time WWF Champ before he even met Steph.

Whether documented or not, you know damn well he was. Wooooooooo!!!! As for Trips, it's true he'll surely bury some people. But I kind of miss him. His presence would help loosen up the card a bit. Even if that means he'll be sitting comfortably at the top.

Yawn, HHH married the bosses daughter, he holds everyone back, we know everything that happens backstage because some website told us so.

Or in the case of Kevin Kelly, someone who worked in WWE and was actually backstage to account for what happened? As for the Flair reference, it was different as he didn't run the guys down and then squash everyone in sight. He'd feud with Rhodes, Magnum TA, Koloff, Garvin and even though some wouldn't get the title, he made them look damn good before and after the match. Trips kayfabe and hell real to an extent, buried Booker.T, after Rock put T over in the Battle Royal and pretty much made T look like he wasn't his equal in the weeks leading into WM. Now usually that would mean the underdog or challenger is going over, but it didn't happen and not only that Trips pinned Book after a delay in the pedigree which made him look even more weak,IMO.

What's the big deal...so what HHH dominated Booker T, kayfabe wise it just wasn't a good matchup for Booker. It's not like it killed his career.. Hell the only people who still remember the feud are the HHHaters anyways

"I am the game, you don't want to play me! I am control, no way you can shake me!"
It's hard to argue with what Kevin Kelly said. I'm sure that there are times when HHH has used his backstage powers to retain the belt and keep himself as the King of the Mountain. At the same time, though, every time HHH wins or a new star comes to the roster, people begin whispering about how he's burying them and I don't think that's fair or accurate. For better or worse, he is one of the company's top stars, and he should be winning more than he's losing.
Equally, I don't think his marriage to Steph is the only reason he's in the position that he currently holds. He has worked hard, showed loyalty to the company, has in-ring and microphone skills, is over with the fans.
Is nepotism a part of his success? Perhaps. It's not the whole reason, though.

Hell the only people who still remember the feud are the HHHaters anyways It didn't kill his career, you're right but it was a bad storyline and as Book was one of the top faces on Raw at the time, it shouldn't have happened,IMO, but oh well at least he got the World Title later on. It's kinda hard not to remember it as it was at a Wrestlemania and the main event for the Raw brand that year, if it were a lower PPV like a No Mercy or Unforgiven, it probably would've been forgotten.

Delay? Hell Triple H waited almost 2-3 minutes before pinning him. That was the worst part of the match. At least he did the Houston Hang Over.
