You do a lottery after WM to see who gets time off. You have Creative put Guys in diff catagroies so that HHH and Cena are in the same on and have no chance of haveing same time off, or if they do other top guys won't. So they do a 3-4 tier lottery where they can choose any 3-5 weeks that they do not want to work.

I would think giving these guys just the house shows off (the rotating time off idea) would be enough. These guys crave TV time more then time off. They don't have to wrestle on TV during that time, but you have to keep people fresh in the eyes of the viewer. So just having them show up one night a month for the 2 weeks might work better in the intreast of buisness.

^All of this radically reduces profit and therefore is not realistic. I believe RD said it best when he said that the WWE could make a fortune in just the DVD sales alone. Cutting house shows won't reduce profit that much, this isn't 96 when they were fighting for their lives. Plus T-shirt sales and all the other merchandise would be raised a bit.

How do fewer house shows raise merch receipts? WWE is a publicly traded corporation. They havea fiduciary responsibility to shareholders. They can't just axe half the house shows so that workers travel less. They can reorganize house shows, the schedules, the cards, etc, but they won't voluntarily reduce operating revenues--it just doesn't make sense from a business perspective. WWE can make a fortune from DVDs, but like any other business they want to make a bigger fortune from even more sales.

Treat WWE like another business. There is no off time in most corperations. Have them Bassically Say you have 1 month off of no work at all. when we have a yearly meting you can ask for the time off you desire, if there are too many people allready for that you can choose another month. And a Month does not have to be 1-30. It can be 15-14 or whatever. this way you don;t have to stop house shows or TV shows, but ti gives them time off that they get to choose

Nah, a lot of guys would lose their heat. I think that's the whole problem.

Nah, a lot of guys would lose their heat. I think that's the whole problem. If they only get to miss house shows that will not be a problem. In addition, using development talent that will soon get called up to fill their spots on the house shows will be beneficial all around.

But aren't house shows used to test storylines and practice match-ups?

An off-season would never work unless EVERYONE took off at the same time, because wrestlers would be too scared of losing their spot. I also believe they need to schedule a 6-8 week off-season in the early summer where there are no TV tapings or house shows, to allow the wrestlers, production crew and writing staff the opportunity to rest and recuperate, physically and emotionally from the wear and tear and grind of the road.
Each of the shows could wrap up with a big season finale and pick up where they left off during the season premiere, like other TV shows. The interim TV time could be filled with reruns of the previous season, "Best Of..." episodes, spotlights on individual wrestlers, or any combination of the above from the THOUSANDS of hours of footage from Vince's tape library. TV shows would still be produced, it just wouldn't be original content. Ideally, the shows would focus on wrestlers who are scheduled to be the focus of the upcoming season, to whet the audiences appetite for the new season. That way, airtime is still filled, but the wrestlers and stage crew get a little break.
Now, I would make it mandatory for wrestlers to not accept any bookings or appearances for at least half of the off-season, just so they can rejuvenate. The other time, they would be eligible to accept a limited number of engagements. That way, ideally, guys lower on the card could make up some of the revenue they would lose from house shows.

yeah it would take too damn long to get everything set up for it. It's much easier to make it ongoing all the time. People might lose interest over the off season and not come back, it would take forever to get it all set up over who get's these weeks off and who gets these weeks it would take too long to get it all organized.
