He beat Batista in every one of Davey's 286 shots at him, but they were always with a roll-up or a countout or a stipulation match condition. He is, as we all know, getting booked as a total wuss and has been generally thrashed by Kane so far. Most of us expect him to retain against Kane, but do any of us expect to see him do it with a decisive victory?
I suppose a sub-question would be...when Rey eventually does come back and feud with Edge for the title, will they still book Edge to pee his pants at every sight of the #1 contender, even when said #1 contender is half his size?

I voted no, and I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to book Edge as a "weak champion". He's not the intimidating monster that Batista or even Cena would be, so why try to book him like that?
If he does wind up facing Mysterio, who knows.

Not really. He's a bad guy and as we all know, bad guys don't win cleanly in modern E if faced with someone near their status. It'd be different if main eventers still demolished jobbers like they did in the old days.

Isn't a roll up clean? Odds are he was pulling the tights, but a roll up is still a clean, albeit sneaky win.
Anyway, Edge could very well be booked to win clean against Rey. We're talking about the guy who was squashed all the time while he was world champion.

He already pinned Batista clean in my book.
Anyhow, he likely will pin some guy after a spear.

No. If Rey is placed in a program with Edge this fall, he'll be making a lot of comebacks and come that close to winning the title, but Edge will outwit him rather than overpower him.

No. A heel who is as over as Edge doesn't need to go over clean.

No, which is a shame. They're booking Edge to look like a complete pussy, as if we're supposed to forget that he's the same guy who won a ton of TLC matches and had some seriously brutal Hardcore matches last year (and won those, too).

It seems like doing this with Edge is another WWE experiment to use Edge's title as a way to help other wrestlers get over, similar to Ric Flair... back when he held the NWA title he would very rarely win cleanly.. but it did do wonders for people who needed pushes.
Edge has never been a dominant force, but he's still a believable champion... in that, this might work.

He did have a clean win over Benoit. He escaped the cage first against Dave, Which is a clean win. But like another poster said, It reminds me of Flair's title run in the NWA.

Edge is a heel Heels don't win clean that much Edge does not look like a heel who can win through sheer force.
therefore, Edge should not win clean.

On the subject of the roll-up: well, it might be considered a clean win, yes, but it's also generally considered fluke-y. By "win clean" I mean beat somebody with a pin or tapout (well, they don't let him do any submissions anymore) where it can't simply be dismissed as a fluke or "opportunism" on his part or "bad luck" for the opponent.
I seem to recall hearing that he was originally SUPPOSED to pull Davey's tights when he beat him with a roll-up but it didn't work out that way for whatever reason.

He beat Batista clean multiple times. His win over Benoit was clean too, if I recall properly.

He wins clean more times than not. It's just on the big stage he tends to cheat, thats all. Basically he's just being Eddie Guerrero.

No, he's a heel, remember? And he's not a monster heel either.
