Wow. The Ps2 is getting a version, too? That sucker will not die! Seriously, if it's true, then it might be better to get that when I go rent it, since last gen games are cheaper there now when you get 2.

Wouldn't Lashley be in perma-rampage mode? and DX too when they team up?

www.gamesradar.com/us/ps2/game/previews/article.jsp?articleId=2007070610159835043§ionId=1001&releaseId=20070402113129813073New Article, apparrently the fighting area has expanded, and there's a guitar. the Ps2 version looks really good actually. And it finally clears something up. " We've talked about the superstar styles before but we now see how it feels in a properly heated match. Basically, every superstar has two styles (out of a possible eight) that represent their personality. John Cena's a Showman and Brawler; Lashley's a Powerhouse and Brawler. After picking your wrestler, you choose which of their styles will be the "main" one for the upcoming match - this unlocks one special ability. In Lashley's case, going for Powerhouse lets you go into a rampage - hold the right trigger and press Down with a finisher stored, and he'll go temporarily nuts, be able to reverse any grapple and do unlimited power moves without getting tired for thirty seconds. A similar thing happens if you pick Brawler, except that this rampage lets you throw punches like Muhammad Ali and reverse any strikes your opponent tries to throw back. But that's not all: each style has secondary abilities to use, too. Powerhouse, for instance, lets you power out of any pin if you've got a stored finisher. Brawler lets you throw strikes in complicated combinations, or "mount" your opponent UFC-style and drop headbutts on them with the analog stick. Dirty fighters are more complicated to use: they can cower behind the ref, or argue with him after a two count. All the abilities combine to make each wrestler play more like their on-screen counterpart. But the best bit of all? If you're playing as a Hardcore wrestler, you can grab a chair and deliberately smash yourself in the face until you bleed. The trick is, when you see blood, you get excited: so you fight much better. Now that's hardcore. " So it means we'll have 2 movesets still, we'll just pick a main one for the match and we'll have the special abilities of the main moveset, but still be able to use moves from both movesets. Phew *takes THQ hatred alert level back down to Blackwatch Plaid* I'm still staying at Deathwatch The Cover Of Rush's Seminal Album "Moving Pictures" until the game convinces me otherwise. But it is a relief that the moves will stay the same. Since I doubt they would have changed last year's scheme, though, I'm going to remain unimpressed. I'm still not high on these "special abilities"...it seems too gimmicky for my tastes, and I have to wonder how it's going to impact an already annoying online component.

I've bought SYM (which I credit to getting me back into wrestling), HCTP, SvR06, and SvR07. And yes, I'm going to buy SvR08. I can't not, especially if it's gonna have MVP (pretty much a lock) and the return of Jeff Hardy. Also, I'm sure Kennedy will get a stat boost (Remember when John Cena was average at everything in HCTP? And Randy Orton was the worst character in SYM?) Hopefully they keep GM Mode mostly intact (24/7 mode is supposed to be able to do this); that's why I've bought every one since 06.
I recently started playing SvR07 again. Probably due to the Benoit news (I took him out of GM mode), but I just felt like playing again.
And for the record, I liked the sing title thread titles better (nothing beats "Bullet With a Name Edition" ;D)

No And we have to reserve "HEET HAWMP Edition" for when we get pissed off at THQ screwing things up for the 360 online component again.

It goes back to wackiness with 21+. Also, the 08 threads are going to be fun. I think. Maybe.

You know they need to get rid of? The refs. What's the point in having them? All they ever do is get in the way and get you DQ'd, just to be an ass.

I'm glad the ref is there, to be honest. If it's a triple threat match, and your opponent has the other guy in a submission, just take out the ref, and let the other guy wear him down with the submission hold. If he taps, who cares, the ref can't see it. It's beautiful.

I just hope that next year, wrestlers don't randomly leave the ring and come back in.

Having the refs would be more fun if they fixed the problems with them, but I like having them there.

Or in Elimination Chambers, climb the chain, then get on the chamber, then either climb down or dive off, then repeat.
I don't get it- In the first SVR the EC AI was actually alright. Ever since it's been totally shite.

I'd be quite happy to see the referees removed, all they do is get in the way.

I can't stand playing ladder matches against a computer. You get about 2 minutes into the match (if even that) then they become determined to get the belt. I can't set a ladder up anywhere without having the computer take it down and set it in the middle of the ring.
Same thing with the Buried Alive Match. After about 30 seconds the computer leaves the ring and heads down to the Casket. Those matches aren't fun.

Okay, what the hell. I just made the ECW title with Johnny Nitro's name on it (so obviously he would defend the title first), and played a First Blood match against CM Punk. I lost to Punk but somehow kept the title. I'd like to challenge for the title playing as Punk, but apparently I can only defend the belt against the CPU and not even LOSE it when I lose the f***ing title match! What the smurf is this crap?
Please tell me it's just me who sucks instead of the game sucking THIS bad.
EDIT: Now I'm making a CAW of Ayako Hamada. And found out again (I had forgotten already) that you can't set a wrestler's hometown as "Japan". WHAT THE SMURF.

They should just make it so you only hit the Ref if he's targetted. I like the Refs, they make the same realistic and were something that wrestling games lacked in the PlayStation/N64 era, hell even Super WrestleMania had referees.

Well, No Mercy did have the ability to be a guest referee, and everyone had ref outfits.

Mike Knox? okay, there goes the validity of that, even thought it is probably mostly right, but it wouldn't be hard to guess who 75% of the people are.
So now I don't have to make Punk and Hardy, sweet. They were a hassle. Just thrown in shannon moore and al the hard ones are done for me.
And now that jeff is in? Can we not have 89 CAW of him? No? okay.
