And as I see it, fan indifference is actually WORSE than if they were either pissed or pleased as punch.
When you push a guy as such a superman that you just make fans plain not care, you've done a great disservice to your product.
WRESTLING BOOKING 101, WWE: Your top face is at his best when he has a stong foil, one that can, and many times does, take his title away.
Example 1: Steve Austin and Vince McMahon. Austin lost the belt several times due to Vince's meddling, and was never hotter than when he was chasing his World Title.
Example 2: Sting and Ric Flair. Sting NEVER had bigger face pops than when he was chasing the dastardly Nature Boy hoping to become World Champion. Same with Sting/Vader and Sting/Rude.
You see, it's when the face is booked as Superman that things get boring. And when even Doomsday (Umaga) can't beat Superman (Cena) then you've really screwed things up. What point is there in watching or investing time in a product where not only do youknow the outcome, but you can predict EXACTLY how it's going to happen 95% of the time?
Just my two cents.

I've pretty much given up hope of Cena losing the WWE Title anytime soon, but I'll be mildly annoyed if Cena retains.

He's very boring. Boring enough to turn me off of WWE altogether, because I'm just sick of him.
I don't care if he's face, heel, somewhere in between, selling concessions, an announcer, whatever. I'm tired of Cena and I wish he would leave, but it's not going to happen.
I'll be watching Summerslam for free next week, and I'd like to see Orton win cleanly, just because I really want someone else in the spotlight right now other than DA CHAMP.

If Cena wins, I um
Yah indifference, I don't really want Orton to be champ, but if he wins eh.

I'll not be happy at all, but at least HHH will be back to save the show.

Reading through this thread, people b****ing about how long he's had the title...I'm assuming you guys aren't 80s wrestling fans. I voted glad, he's a good talent. I wish he'd turn heel though, since he's better that way.

Cena's needed to drop the belt for a few months now, but never really had anyone appropriate to drop it to. Michaels was the walking wounded, they'd never had Khali champion of the A show and Lashley isn't ready yet, but I feel Orton is at his peak now, it's like 2004 all over again, he can do no wrong in my opinion.
So I'll be pretty peeved off if Cena doesn't finally drop it.

I'm fine with either outcome. But there's no option for me to really express that. Indifferent doesn't really cut it there, as there's a negative connotation to it.

it doesn't really matter, especially if Orton is getting a rematch.

I mean, if Orton wins the title because Cena's new worst enemy Vince nails him with the belt after a ref bump... then what?

At this point, if anyone is going to take the title from Cena, they need to do so in the first match. Like I said, it doesn't matter what circumstances revolve around how Cena wins, because people will already get it in their head that Cena is the better man, like he has proved with every other person he has faced already. If you want to build sales, you have Orton win it and base it off a fluke or something and have Cena come back at the next PPV with a vengence, only to come up short again and draw this feud out.

I actually want him to retain, believe it or not. I just don't think Orton is ready for the title. There's nothing in his promo's that makes me excited about an Orton title run. His work inside the ring is good on some days and on others he's just average. Cena has had the belt for a long time and him losing the belt would be a big thing. I just don't think Orton is the guy that would capitalize that rub.

It's absolutely pointless to give Orton another month, they've pushed him to the moon with these vignettes and winning streak.
And if Orton doesn't capitalize, then who will? Who hasn't he beaten already?
