Roberts would have been a good one. Actually, all of them have their own merits (except Brother Love and I expect Douglas would have been squashed for petty revenge if it had ended up him). Even JR sounded disappointed it was Vince.

The InVasion was a serious letdown, I'm still baffled how WWF(E) f***ed that one up. Another one was the guy who ran over Austin. Out of all the people on the roster, it was effing Rikishi? Utter crap.

Starrcade 97'
Sting vs: Hogan
crappy clusterf*** finish to what should have been one of the best (and well built) angles in wrestling.

Starrcade 97' Sting vs: Hogan crappy clusterf*** finish to what should have been one of the best (and well built) angles in wrestling. I completely agree with this. You had one of the best builds to an angle in history (by WCW no less!) and then it all goes down the tubes with a shit match and a fast count that was not really fast at all.

Don't see why everyone treats the Higher Power angle so badly, I loved it...and couldn't see anyone else being the Higher Power, awesomely done....Jake Roberts would have been better however "I did it for Da Rock!" = Biggest let down pile of crap probably ever.

Ugh, I want to forget the higher power story because idiots at my school kept speculating that it was Owen Hart...
Note: This was just after the Over the Edge PPV.

Gotta be the Higher Power, because it combined uselessness, boringness, and predictableness. Seriously, did anyone NOT think it was Vince?

Asschucks wedding was an underrated disappointing payoff. Although maybe it's because it brought an AWESOME Three Minute Warning beating... still, you kind of expected more from that than "oh, this was just a publicity stunt" and making Matt Lauer look like a fool. Wait, what am I saying?

I must have been the only one who actually liked the Higher Power payoff. Although really, there was no one else who it could have been.
I'll go with Da Rock and Da people.

Hogan vs. Sid, in my opinion. They could have done so much more with Sid, but it'd take almost 5 years for them to do it right...kinda.
My opinion might change tonight.

I find people's reactions to the Rikishi thing to be bizarre.
first of all, everyone's all about "Make new stars! Make new stars!" And then Rikishi is revealed as the driver, and everyone's like, "What? He's just a midcarder! I thought this was going to be big!"
There's also weird revisionist history regarding this, too. People act like Rikishi wasn't over (he was), that okay, he WAS over, but not in any kind of believably threatening way (he'd been put over the Radicalz and appearing in main events, and also he was huge) that people only popped for the stinkface and the dancing (his entrance pop was killer) or that okay, he was over, but he couldn't work (his Rikishi babyface run featured the crispest, most energetic work of his career).
Seriously, what is this? Why is this considered such a bomb, when really it wasn't even given a chance to work... did Rikishi and Austin ever even get a blowoff match?
Really, it's like the fans (not just smarks) were disappointed they suddenly tried to thrust a midcarder into a main event angle, the WWE panicked and made it all about HHH without even really giving Rikishi a chance, and so now all anyone remembers is The Rock's parody of the big speech later.
