Wow both got caught doping. and don't say Hermes has an excuse. He doesn't. He does. It's just a bad excuse that still translates as "I wanted an edge on the competetion." Anyway, I'm not shocked. Why should I be? It's like reading Kimo getting busted. Duh.

Dana White isn't paying his boys enough, they can't afford to mask their roid use.

This doesn't surprise me at all, and in fact I'm glad this is happening. MMA in Japan, while extremely exciting due to the elite competitors throughout the years, always had a low-key reputation for very, very lackadaisical drug-testing (often no testing was done at all), which everyone basically began to accept that guys fighting in Japan were on 'roids, HGH, amphetamines and other crap. Now that Japanese MMA is failing and American MMA is thriving, where drug-testing is mandatory and strictly enforced, it was only a matter of time before performance-enhancing drug use was uncovered.
Dana White can decree "Boxing is dead! Long live the UFC!" all he wants, but right now he's got a lot of back-peddling to do after one of his "Golden Boys" has tested positive. Also, for those not familiar with American Athletic Commission bans, it's not like Sherk & others could fight in Vegas or anywhere outside of California, they are banned from fighting anywhere in the U.S., and unless they want to committ career suicide (i.e. never receiving an American fighting license ever again) and decide to fight in Japan, Brazil, Europe, etc., they can't compete for a full year.

Is Sherk really a "Golden Boy?" I know he's a champion and a damn good fighter, but I dont know if I'd say hes a Golden Boy. Now if someone like Liddell, Tito, GSP, Hughes or someone like that got busted, then the UFC may be in a bit of heat (granted Tim Sylvia got busted before).

Crap, I wanted to see BJ Penn destroy Sherk then go on to fight Roger Huerta. QFT Sherky probably took the juice just so he could dodge Penn. And his gerber baby like smile! ~That's Our Voicebox!~

Sherk didn't have to defend his title for almost a year, plus a lot of people believe the LW division title was brought back so Sherk could cut down and dominate the division. But I agree, UFC would be in major s*** if Liddell, Couture, or Franklin got busted. Tito? Not so much, as White would likely use that to blackball Ortiz from the UFC forever.

I am not so sure that UFC will get any bad pub for this Heck, I havent even seen it on any news channels or anything. To really prove it, my manager is a HUGE UFC fan. He's gotten every PPv since the first. He didnt even know about it till I told him.
