(Note that this doesn't taken into account the possibility of some kind of TNA Women's Championship if TNA follows through on their rumblings of adding more women to the roster. We're talking about a new men's mid-card title here.)
I say yes. Granted, TNA wastes a lot of time now, and would fit in way more wrestling than they actually do in the hour they've got, but I fear what they would do to kill time for two hours without another belt.
If you add some kind of mid-card title, you can:
1) develop guys you want to push for the world title later.
2) give guys who already are main-event worthy but won't fit in right now something to do so they stay over - otherwise you get endless qualifying tournaments and KotM matches because TNA has too many guys who are capable of main-eventing.
3) restore the integrity of the X Division by freeing it from being a semi-undercard to the TNA world title - it wasn't supposed to be a "farm" belt for the world title, it was supposed to be separate and nearly equal in prestige.
4) give the tag team division a chance to develop properly again without being dominated by random heavyweight pairings who are between main-event angles - tag team competition in TNA right now is mostly temporary pairups of main-event guys rather than long-term dedicated tag teams.

Sadly, the X-Division title would be the midcard title.
They might add a women's title sense they seem to be adding more female wrestlers to the roster, but I think that would be the only title that they would ad..

3 titles is plenty for two hours.
Maybe more than enough.

No, three is enough. If anything they could add the Women's title if they're going that root. But no, they can barely handle what they already have.

A belt helps people get over. I think a guy like James Storm, who's really starting to become a huge character in TNA, will be helped the most. TNA obviously has been pushing Storm really hard, especially in the past few months where he always has a match and always wins.
I think a lot of the midcard talent could be helped with feuding over a belt. I think it could help keeping angles going for a longer time.
That is of course, if TNA doesn't bury that title and throws it in as a bragging right like all the other belts in TNA. Man, that has to be the worst angle of the year.

No...it would be useless to introduce a new title when the current ones have little meaning.
That's why I hope if TNA does get 2 hours in the fall, Samoa Joe is the world champ and he has a long....LONG....run as champ.

They need something. I don't see how (with the way things currently are) that they plan on making new guys seem main event ready (or even making new stars) without just putting them against main eventers when they may not be ready. A new title could be the testing ground and would be great for guys like Roode, Hoyt, Storm, Harris, and Young who need something as well as Rhino, Daniels and even AJ who have nothing to do with the World Title scene and are too big (literally and figuratively) for the X Title right now.

I've heard stuff from Women's title to X-Division Tag titles, but I don't think they really need one at the moment

not right from the start.....they need to work on developing what they have to make them seem for valuable

TNA needs to get their time/show management under control before they even think of adding another title to the mix. I also think TNA's title picture is way too mettled as it is.

maybe if they put even more of an emphasis on the fact that the X-Division isn't a cruiserweight division then it would be seen as more of a midcard title. I mean outside of Joe, it is pretty much the smaller/quicker guys going after that belt. Nothing's really stopping someone like a James Storm or a Robert Roode from going after that belt, yet they haven't tried it out yet.

Ah, I say give the midcarders something to feud over. Or another belt for Joe to win.

Nah. The X-Div stands alone and between the TNA world champ holding another promotion's title and defending it well, it helps build the prestidge of the world belt. The tag belts are being fought over (were I guess since Joe for some reason has them now) by two of the best teams in wrestling history (Stieners/Dudleys) I don't see a need for any more belts

I dont believe they need a new title, what they need to do is to use the ones they have more correctly.

Not much point to a new title if they're just going to stick em all on one guy

I think they should make another belt, but have it be a divisional belt ala the X Division title. At that point, the active roster could conceivably be split up into distinct divisions (five if you count the burgeoning women's division).
Heavyweights: Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Abyss, Sting, Chris Harris, Jeff Jarrett, Raven, AJ Styles, Tomko
New Division: James Storm, Rhino, Chrisopher Daniels, Robert Roode, Judas Mesias, Lance Hoyt, Dustin Rhodes, Eric Young
X Division: Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, Brother Runt, Jerry Lynn, Shark Boy, Frankie Kazarian, Petey Williams
Tag Teams: LAX, VKM, Seretonin, Team 3D, Steiners, Motor City Machine Guns, Basham and Damaja, Triple X

No, the need to put more focus on the X-division title and the tag belts already. They could do it with 2 hours.
TNA is good at storyline fueds not centered around belts anyway, like the Rhyno/Storm one or the Young/Roode one.

The x-title should just be about the cruiserweights.
TNA should create a new midcard title that would recognize guys on the way up in the company.

I can maybe see a Women's title, but other than that, not right now.

I really think there needs to be a happy medium between the World and X-title.
Not to make either title look worse, but because there's just way to many wrestlers in TNA, and most of them don't wrestle the X-style.
