I think a few of the people that say they still respect the guy (not just his wrestling ability) wouldn't. you mean the people on youtube who call people sheep when they decided that memorializing a murderer is in bad taste? you mean the people on youtube who say "I know what he did was wrong, but i don't care he's still my favorite wrestler" Something like that, I'd think his survival would mean emphasis on him being a murderer, mentally stable or otherwise, rather than that he was dead/tried to kill himself because he'd be around to be held accountable. He can still be considered the best wrestler ever by people if that's what they think - it's a valid opinion - but to distance yourself from the means of his death because you personally (that's a general you not you you ) liked him is just strange to me, amongst other things. "I've seen Chris do 'That's it' hand gestures in matches all the time, he was trying to tell me Nancy and Daniel had it coming."

so do a murder she wrote at Benoit Manor I've never seen that show, but I get the impression you're making some bizzare connection between my writing ability and the guilt of someone I've never met. I must admit, these things seem completely unrelated. But since you asked, let's go with someone killing Nancy and Daniel for whatever reason... whether it be robbery gone wrong or some crazy woman that wanted him for herself, there's a million scenarios you can write for that. And then Chris having a fairly natural reaction of not wanting to live without his wife and son. A great many people have killed themselves after losing a child, let alone a child and a wife at the same time. So he does himself in not figuring on fantastically useless police pinning it on him rather than doing actual police work.

I'm glad he killed himself. The wrestling industry and it's fans couldn't bare it, if he lived.

Anyway, I understand what you mean. And I agree to an extent, he probably did do it. But I'm with the founding fathers on "beyond a reasonable doubt" for this sort of thing. There's no reasonable doubt what happened. Maybe someone could make up some wacky theory about a mystery killer that isn't contradicted by the evidence, but that's not "reasonable". People often think "beyond a reasonable doubt" means "beyond a shadow of a doubt", but it doesn't. Forensics would have tied Benoit directly to the two murders. Not just fingerprints - he'd have both of their blood/saliva on him, there'd be footprints from the bodies that matched his shoes (if not bear feet). The gruesome way that he killed his son would leave plenty of evidence - perhaps handprints, etc. There's motive, the text messages he sent, no sign of forced entry (they certainly had a security system), no sightings of mysterious cars nearby, the fact that Benoit outlived the other two by at least a full day or two, and the history of domestic violence. And that's off the top of my head, and keep in mind, there was no case built against Benoit because he's dead. If he lived, they would have torn the house apart and found even more than that.

This isn't heading down a good road so I'm locking it up before it gets out of hand.
