Semi-cross-posted from the ECW spoiler thread...
Wow. All the times we complained about Burke being reduced to semi-jobber status, I don't think any of us ever thought he'd be teaming with Nunzio.
This is really bad. We're not just talking about a guy being put on the back burner for a while between big feuds, which is what I thought was going on before. When they don't care enough about you to come up with more than having you tag with the brand's #1 joke jobber, and on a brand with a roster as small as ECW's, you're pretty close to actual burial territory.
I know I sound alarmist, and I don't mean to, but I'm truly worried for Burke's future now that there are Smackdown guys around.

Future endeavors, HERE WE COME !!!!
Meh, not yet.I like Burke and i enjoy his matches which is more than i can say about 95% of all 3 brands combined.Hopefully, better things will materialize sooner than later.

I really hope that he doesn't get released or demoted. Honestly, I think Elijah Burke could be one of the huge stars of the future.
He's got a great heel gimmick, can work a good match and is excellent on the microphone. Really, you can't ask for much more than that. I could see him on top of WWE for years to come, along with MVP, Matt Hardy, CM Punk and Edge.

Well, it said Burke walked out on Nunzio during the match. So it's not like he stood around and got squashed.

Also, Burke is still young and improving rapidly. It's not like if he isn't pushed NOW his career is over.
Patience is a virtue, but he needs to make sure he shows that he is still trying to improve, or he'll head down "Shelton Benjamin Road" on "Carlito Ave."

Yeah, sounds like the start of a feud between Burke/Nunzio. Or the start of some sort of storyline involving Burke, at least.

Also, Burke is still young and improving rapidly. It's not like if he isn't pushed NOW his career is over. Patience is a virtue, but he needs to make sure he shows that he is still trying to improve, or he'll head down "Shelton Benjamin Road" on "Carlito Ave." Look at Johnny Nitro/Morrison. Guy with considerable talent and promise that was a successful midcarder. Then he gets jobbed out repeatedly to Jeff Hardy and enters into Shelton-Land. Fortunately for him, they moved him to a different show so he wouldn't be distracted by his girlfriend while wrestling at shows, and more importanty, due to the fact that the main thing keeping him from reaching the next tier could now only be met off the road, he got a renewed push and became a "world" champ. Point is, Burke can go from low-level to top-tier in a few weeks...it's not like he doesn't have the assets for it, and also, it's not like he did something massive to get buried. He'll be back on track in no time, methinks.

Happens all the time in Japan, and it works out. A lot of times the match isnt about Nunzio teaming with Burke. Its about furthering Burke without him taking the loss. That what guys like Nunzio are for. Relax. He isnt being buried.

Burke is aweful dude. These boards heavily over rate him. Not the worst but no better then mid card jober in my book.

Burke is: really, really, really good on the microphone getting better in the ring each week very good in the ring already charismatic young How could any wrestling fan think he's awful? If WWE buries him or lets him go, it'll be right up there with Matt Morgan in terms of huge mistakes when evaluating talent.
