He told the kids that Balls ate too much candy, and that's why his teeth are like that.

They probably allowed it since it's clean fun, and it poked fun at him. I loved when they joked about the big cell phone. "Has to be from '82." "More like '85." Sorry, but I need to correct you. I thought they said it was more like 1995... as in when ECW debuted(not sure if that was when but it was definitely 1995 I heard and since I didn't watch ECW back then, I am just guessing it's debut was the connection to the year 1995) Nope, I believe it was 80s, since he didn't use the cell phone much in ECW. It was more of a prop from his managing days in WCW.

That was hilarious, particularly then not acknowledging who he was dressed as. I bet Paul would love that.
But you know what? That match had psychology and storytelling! He used the tin the apples were in really well!

that 10 minute stretch with nunzio and the kids followed by the match was the greatest 10 minutes in the history of all wrestling

I loved how ridiculously tongue-in-cheek Joey and Tazz were during the whole thing.

I loved it! It might have been a bit absurd, but I had SO much fun watching it, A+ ECW, A+

Dreamer's impression was hillarious, and Tazz/Styles really made it for me!!

I was right, smarks are already crapping on it. Someone posted a bad review on thewrestlingfan.com. Apparently, either smarks don't get jokes or are just humorless.
I will buy any DVD that this match appears on, even if it a Big Daddy V & Bastion Booger porno, I would still buy it.

Either that or it's just one opinion from one guy. Let alone one you had to dig for on other forums to find. Considering you're a smark and presumably enjoyed it, pretty much every other poster (all smarks) in this thread enjoyed the match, I'd say that's probably the correct answer and more rational than "Oh I dug up one review by one guy that was negative, that means all smarks everywhere think the exact same way in all things which completely validates me as a wrestling fan". But y'know, whichever.

I think it was a little more than just comedy. Obviously, for the most part, it was. Throwing apples at each other and what not. But when Dreamer used the giant metal apple bobber thingy, that was smurfing amazing... Because he is the innovator of violence

Being even slightly extreme made it the most suited match for Extreme Championship Wrestling.
So I was happy.

The fact that Tommy Dreamer picked up the Pumpkin Pie only to eat whipped topping from the can and then put it on the pie only to climb onto the apron and jump off to hit Nunzio with it was a defining moment of the match for me.
If they released JUST this match on a dvd by itself I'd buy it.
CLASSIC!
