Ok this is really confusing. First I have a triple threat match with Batista and Lashley announced to be at Survivor Series. After this I have Coach message me about how glad he is I'm teaming up with Lashley. Um... I never agreed to anything like that. Then afterwards I have Lashley attack me backstage and slam me on Dreamer's car. Then Shane tells me how pissed off he is that I turned down the alliance with ECW... wait wha? And finally I get to Survivor Series and I'm teaming with Lashley against Batista in a handicap match.

Wow this game sounds like...something WWE would do in real life.
Other news, when I get my version of the game and X-Box live I plan on holding the very first ever "Eddie Gurrero Invitational". Sort of like the TPI with it being a tournament. Let me know by New Years via PM if you'd like to be in it.

Did you also have a non-title match against Kenny Dykstra on RAW and have Kenny suddenly turn into Lashley after the match was over? I did, and I also LOST MY CHAMPIONSHIP TO LASHLEY when I accidentally got myself DQ'd. Afterwards, Lashley brutalized me by slamming me on Dreamer's car... asking if I thought I was too good to defend my title against him at Survivor Series. DUDE, YOU JUST STOLE MY F***ING TITLE!! Seriously, no one had ever told me that the match would... 1) be for the damn title, 2) have the stipulation that I'd lose my title on a DQ and 3) HAVE MY OPPONENT TURN INTO BOBBY LASHLEY all of a sudden! And where the SMURF did the "alliance with ECW" suddenly come from? I sure as hell wasn't notified about such a thing AT ALL.

What're the Extreme Rules matches like? Are they just your basic hardcore matches or do you get extra weapons?

One minute it's just another match but then I win and all of a sudden I retianed the belt from and ECW guy, and they treat it like the biggest event in the history of wrestling.

Hayabusa: Decent, man. The entirety of 24/7 Mode sounds like a real cock-up. I swear, I think Yukes and THQ actually takes the time to make this series more and more ridiculous and embarrassing.

When I played that match (and eventually won after loading my saved game, seeing the celebration cutscene), the only thing in my mind was "What were they THINKING?!" Sure, THQ, it's nice that you took the time to write all these storylines (or were these again written by Real WWE Writers(tm)?) but how about f***ing CHECKING if the angles match the in-ring stuff at all BEFORE releasing the damn game?!As for the Hayabusa CAW, I edited him a bit to give him one of the other masks that don't cover the neck area. I think I did a really good job with him this time, though.

I am strongly suggesting the next Smackdown vs. RAW thread be named "Buttgoblins Ate My Cash". And here's a bad pic of my Joey Ryan CAW... he kinda looks more like X-Pac than himself in this particular shot. For whatever reason I wasn't allowed to give him both the bandana and his sunglasses, which sucks.

Heh? 2001 - Just Bring It 2002 - Shut Your Mouth 2003 - Here Comes The Pain That's pretty much a yearly release schedule if you ask me. Yeah, I was pretty sure that the games have been coming out every year since its inception. But hell, those gam,es felt like that the developers really developed 2 years to it.

Well, I got Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 for the Wii, and if I had to use one word to describe it, it would be "ripoff." In their review, IGN downplayed the lack of depth and options to call it a "good start." If by "good start" they meant an incomplete and shoddy game that isn't worth the CD it was burned on, then I agree it's a good start.
A typical match would go something like this:
- Match select - Load screen - MVP entrance - Load screen - Matt Hardy entrance - Load screen - Less than 3 minute match - Load screen - Matt Hardy celebration - Load screen - Main Menu
I haven't played a wrestling game since No Mercy, but people tell me that the load screen issue isn't as bad as before. If it was worse than this, I can't fathom why anybody would bother with this franchise more than once.
As for the match selections, it's slim pickens. There are no special matches like Money In The Bank, Ladder Match, or Hell In The Cell, and the hardcore match only has chairs for weapons.
The gameplay and moveset are repetitive, and most matches last about 3 minutes. It feels more like a bad fighting game with the load screens from Hell than a wrestling match. After a while, it just became so much of a chore just to get a match going that I just gave up and took the game out with the intention of reselling it. If you considering getting the Wii version, to paraphrase Elijah Burke, "Don't waste.....your time."

Okay, I'm having trouble. How on earth do you do the triple jump moonsault? As in you set the chair while the opponenent is down. It's quite easy, first the character must have the hardcore as his primary fighting style then while your opponent is down, pick up a chair, get close to his body, then it's either the right analog stick or square.

I just started playing GM Mode. On the Stimulate Training option. Is it best to keep this on or off?

If you considering getting the Wii version, to paraphrase Elijah Burke, "Don't waste.....your time." BEST SIG EVER!! GaTech 222 Cumberland 0 I just finished the 24/7 GM mode, just for the 350 Achievement Points on the XBox 360. Using the instructions from a gaming website, I picked the RAW brand, and drafted only Michaels and Mysterio. Set Michaels as heel and Mysterio as Face. Put the WWE title on Mysterio and Intercontinental title on Michaels. Set Play Options to "Re-Run", difficulty to "Legend", and injuries to "Off". Setup RAW so that all 5 matches are different gimmick matches (table, cage, ladder, hardcore, tlc) between Mysterio and Michaels, with Match 4 for the Intercontinental title and the WWE title for the main event. Setting both promos appears to help. Simmed all the matches. Selected face training on Tue, Thu and Heat training on Wed and Fri. Rinse, wash, repeat about 70 times. I setup PPV matches accordingly, with Hell in the Cell as the main event if possible. Setting up rivalies to end at the PPV seems to help boost the GMotY meter, along with hiring story writers. I had to resign Mysterio and Michaels a few weeks before Wrestlemaina, and I got the full 100% GMotY meter in August 2008, which unlocked the 350 achievement points. About 15 minutes worth of credits played after the final scene.

i hate how the guy just stands there with a blank look on his face after he wins the match. then, when the celebration cutscene comes up, all of a sudden he's all tired and jubilant? what the hell?
at least make it load right after the 3.

The storylines don't make sense? So they released the TNA game in the wrong box?

Hi, everybody. (Hi, Dr. Nick!) Ok, well...I got the game as well on Tuesday, and I thought I would give you my two pennies on it. I read some of the pages on here, and I echo your complaints and also you compliments.
I didn't buy 2007, so I am used to the up, down, left, and right + circle style of controls. Very simple and perfect. It is taking some time to get used to it, but I am catching on. The CAW is pretty much a joke. Not too much was added, and it's hard to get hairstyles and tattoos to look good. The set up is also kind of confusing.
24/7 mode has been pretty boring so far, I am forever battling Helms for some reason. I am using my CAW, who I want to be a heel, but like somebody else said...the only heel thing I have done is sucker punch MVP after my first PPV. I also didn't know how to rest my injuries, and I ended up losing three matches in a row, one in a 4-way ladder match with Helms, Booker, and Piper, and to Mark Henry and Matt Hardy. That'll happen when you have broken ribs.
But the game does look good. I like the ECW guys and doing Extreme Rules matches. The commentary sucks, but that's expected, and the songs they put on there haven't gotten on my nerves yet. I'm still trying to figure out what's what, but I can always pop in here and ask. Really though, if you are content with 2006 or 2007, you should pass on this game. I tend to go every other year with my sports games, unless dramatic changes are made.
I could have done without this, but I like the updated roster and the other additions. So that's my base review there. I'm having fun with my new video game basically, but it's also kind of a pain in the ass. About 50/50 right now.

Holy crap, how in the world did this game get anything above a 6 rating?
Its just terrible. I can't believe how awful it is. So glad I rented it instead of buying it.
