I haven't had a chance to comment on this yet (been on holiday for a week, but still made sure to watch Raw) and I'm sure I'm saying nothing new here, but...
The return was perfect. The same countdown music, the original theme, the whole "save us" was played to absolute perfection. It was one of those moments when a 32 year old man marked out like a kid.
Just please WWE, please. Don't ruin this with a title match at Armageddon (I don't know if anything's been announced yet). Let him comeback by winning the Rumble and winning the title at Wrestlemania.

It seems that they are, as HBK/Orton has been done to death and I'd rather just let HBK move on and not try to get the win back as he seems to do quite a lot, plus his feud with Kennedy that apparently is brewing now and they probably will face off at the PPV.

Well, the return did not live up to my expectations at all. It actually was lackluster. I havent watched wrestling since midsummer, if that, and I really can't find any reason to watch now. I also realize Jericho was never the biggest guy, but I may be bigger then him by now.

I wish they had gone with the Jeri-Code for the name instead of the Codebreaker.

That crowd was pretty dead last night for Jericho save for a few small Y2J chants. I'm starting to think that ole KYJ isn't as over as the WWE thought him to be.

It just proves my old theory that while Jericho has fans, they are mostly internet fans... and as much as we think we are important, we are a very small % of the total.
Those big y2j chants we heard? Just bandwagon marks jumping on whatever the current chant was. Just like the old ECW chants. If everybody that chanted that actually watched the old ECW, it would still be in business.
The average fan is waiting for Cena to come back and crush Orton. Jericho is just filler until then.
Entertaining filler, like cherry pie filling... but still just filler to the average fan.

I don't think one crowd should be the meter of how over Jericho is. Besides that crowd took a crap on everyone not named Jeff Hardy or Ric Flair to begin with.

I wonder how much better off Jericho would be if he were a bitter heel, coming back to WWE, pointing out that he should have been a star elsewhere, but instead was sabotaged (bringing back his old conspiracy shtick) and had to come back to WWE, and as opposed to performing in front of real crowds and working with the cultural elite, he's stuck dealing with loser fans and being part of a business that should be beneath him.
Just a thought.

don't know if it has been discussed but what is the general consensus of what jericho was going to be saving us from originally? it could have been orton but at the time the promos started cena was on top. just wondering what opinions here were.

I think it was going to be Cena, but they couldn't think of anything original to replace Cena with, so just went with Orton.

i thought so as well, but at the same time i can't see them bringing jericho back as a heel. they knew the face pop he would get which is why i think they wanted him to come in as a face. so i am unsure.
