"The Batman" makes him seem more mysterious to me. As if they aren't sure if he's actually a man or a giant bat creature people are seeing. "Batman" seems more familiar.

Simpsons Big Finish did it! Big Finish did it (twice, also with the excellent Jo Grant story The Scorchies), The Gunfighters did it with the Ballad Of The Last Chance Saloon, we had Daleks In Manhattan with a full Broadway esque number, and all the RTD Christmas specials (bar Waters Of Mars for obvious reasons) had a special song written for them either done non diegetically or happening in the background, with Song For Ten, Love Don't Roam and The Stowaway. Plus, RTD has been on a theatre hiring tear. From three different Melchiors from Spring Awakening to Jinkx Monsoon to the policeman in the Christmas special being Barney Wilkinson, the understudy lead in both Bat Out Of Hell and Bonnie And Clyde on the West End. There is a difference between there being music performed in a show and a musical where the characters start breaking out into song and dance like it's a normal thing for people to do.

I personally didn't care for the Christmas special. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}It annoyed me how Ruby seemed to just accept all the crazy stuff happening way too easily. It was as if she and the Doctor had been on numerous adventures already instead of it being their first adventure. By the time they did the whole "it's bigger on the inside" thing with the TARDIS it was out of character for her to be amazed by it. While I suppose that means they have great chemistry together, as her introduction to the Doctor it hurt the suspension of disbelief for me.
Then there was the musical number. I suppose I didn't mind the goblins singing but the Doctor and Ruby busting out into a seemingly per-rehearsed song routine made no sense. This is the second story in a row with a song and dance routine. Is Doctor Who a musical now? At least with the Toymaker he could bend reality so you had that as the explanation. STOP trying to make things that aren't musicals, musicals.
You also had the Doctor do two things that seemed uncharacteristic for him. 1. He killed the Goblin King and presumably the othe goblins. This is a man that couldn't bring himself to kill the Daleks. Maybe he didn't mean to? Didn't seem too broken up about it. 2. He went back to save that woman who was killed by the falling Christmas tree. The Doctor can just go back in time and prevent people from dying now can he? Why doesn't he do that all the time?
"Stop trying to make things that aren't musicals musicals" - Well, I don't know how to break it to you but Doctor Who has been doing this since April 1966. I don't recall a single time where they did a musical number until recently. Can you give an example? I know I've seen most of the 1st, 2nd (surviving), and 3rd Doctor's stories as well as all of the 4th Doctor's stories. I don't recall any in New Who either.

Can you even find Garfield merchandise anymore? I feel like I haven't really seen any since like maybe the early 2000.

I'm still not caring much for this series. Question: Why are these Sith wannabees scared of witches/witchcraft?

Order 66 was a decisive blow against the Jedi but far from a final one. That's been canon old and new since Episode III first came out and before then. Don't blame Disney for doing something since, shit, the early 90's at least. I dunno, watching this and complaining about having to watch Rebels or Clone Wars strikes me like being confused watching Return of the Jedi and complaining about having to watch Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back first. I would say it's more comparable to if they had made a show that is a sequel in a comic book story line and having not read the comics not having the investment in the show.

I've never seen any Rebels episodes and only like the first 2 seasons of Clone Wars so I felt underwhelmed by most of it. These characters are essentially strangers to me but you're obviously supposed to know who they are and their history with one another. I also kept wanting to skip ahead in the story. Like yeah yeah she is going to solve this puzzle and get the map . . and yeah yeah they are going to figure out how to unlock the map . . get on with it. I guess maybe it reminded me too much of a rehash of two map MacGuffins from the sequel trilogy? I had to laugh at yet another character getting ran through with a lightsaber and surviving.
Is it just me or is there some bad acting in this? I felt like the characters were just standing around taking turns saying their lines. If people are having a disagreement wouldn't they at some point talk over one another? They all seemed to have the same low energy in their delivery. Seemed there were inordinately long pauses after some times before another character would speak too. It was bugging me.

I remember this and the rest of the "Marvel Action Hour" airing at like 5 AM on Sunday mornings or something. Had to force myself to get up and watch.

I think we had this catalog in the house because I specifically remember that there was a Batman item where we was still wearing his blue and gray costume and that image of Bob Kane in the Batman jacket and hat.

I'll never forget the guy who called, telling me his life story as to why he needed batteries for some remote. He wanted to know the prices on the batteries so I told him. He asked, "How many are in the single pack?" and then followed it up with, "How many are in the double pack?" Guy didn't know single meant one and double meant two.

Star Wars Babies is something I've been pitching for years. George Lucas is that you?

For some reason Moff Gideon was giving me Raul Julia M. Bison vibes in this episode.

I wish he'd focus on making the normal episodes. I feel like the sample platters are delaying things.

I hate to say it but I'm starting to get "Holiday Special" vibes from the series. Some of these characters come across more as special celebrity guest appearances than legit Star Wars characters.

He didn't like Jurassic Park because he thought the characters were bad.

My children often watch these videos on the TV in the living room and the TVs in their rooms. Unlike normal YouTube videos they don't jump to another video when it's finished playing so it's just the same short video clip playing over and over again. They'll leave the room and go elsewhere and these dumb videos will still be playing ad nauseam. Drives me nuts.

I'll never forgive them for not putting rails on the Death Star in Rouge One complete with a guy leaning on them as an explanation as to why they aren't there in A New Hope.
