Blackwell. And Adonis wasn't fat in AWA late in his career, was he? He was fat, but fat in WWF if memory serves. Adonis was very much fat in the AWA late in his career (basically the last matches of his career). He still was one of their best workers at the time. He was in the best shape in the 1970s and early 1980s in AWA and WWF, but he never truly had the type of body that suited the name 'Adonis.' Didn't know he went back after the WWF Flower Shop thing. Was he still feminine or did he go back to the old school bruiser?

Throw a punch. If that fails, try again. Look back and forth at the crowds on the left and right of you with a What The f***, Oh Face?!?

Someone already stated that wire mesh was the first cage style, but I'll add that as a kid closed circuit WM2 was when I first saw the blue one and was really disappointed. I like the wire mesh and nothing says fake pain like raking the forehead against the mesh.

Kenny "The Sod Buster" Jay
Kenny Jay is the best overall talent in wrestling. He was what we called a 'job guy' but he could work with any human being and get a good match out of them. He would go in the ring with a big name who really couldn't do much and make him look good, and he could get in there with a Danny Hodge or Verne Gagne and make them look even better than they were. He was just an incredibly talented guy.---Harley Race

Stanley Blackburn overturning the decision that temporarily made Hulk AWA champion over Bockwinkel the second time. (The over the top rope decision.) The rest may never have happened if not for that. Bailing to WWF at the time may not have seemed as interesting if Verne made him champ.
That feud was Hogan's best. Heenan got his comeuppance every night for months.

There was a video clip of this night that used to air or at I may have recorded it. I don't remember seeing the show but the video was Billy Ocean's When the Going Get's Tough, and it looked like Piper was getting mighty close to Liz.
I also remember being way in love with Liz. Huge crush, especially in that outfit.

Roddy Piper/Frank Williams and the question "Where are you from?" started it all.

My favorite era and territory. The nostalgia is going full force.

I don't pay attention to any wrestling except the local show every three or four months. It's a second generation promotion the father being a local hero, the late Woody Farmer. They keep it pretty old school but that's due to lack of production costs. I'm sure they'd sign right on to whatever is happening if they had ticket sales. Too bad they can't acquire some local TV time. I'd tune in once a week for it.
I would tune in for a old school WWE show but I'm sure they wouldn't do it right. Again everyone has a theme song and a $40 t-shirt etc.
If you gonna do it make it late 60's-70's. Make it about rules and purses and sanctioning bodies. Represent the ring side doctor, time keeper. Get rid of the guard rails and don't allow people to bring in their crappy signs.
Judging by the crowd that showed up to the last local show it was half real wrestling fans and half guys like me doing the nostalgia trip.

Yeah, you read it right. The WWE replaced Eye of the Tiger with Real American for Hogan's entrance against Bockwinkel in the Ultimate Anthology. It was probably so they don't have to pay Survivor or whoever wrote that song, but how lame is that?
It bothers me when historical stuff like that gets changed. Anyway it was great to see that match again. It was a classic.

I grew up with AWA and then WWF but when cable came around we started getting Super Station. It was great and I like the matches and mayhem even better, so when Vince showed up that day even I was like WTF? It was like the Easter bunny showing up at Christmas. It just didn't seem right, and they used all that "here to bring you the best action in professional wrestling crap". It was also around WM1 so Mr T showed up for an interview and they of course showed some matches from the Spectrum. I'm glad it didn't last and we got Dusty Rhodes and the Four Horsemen back. Was it more controversial than the last Nitro or was the last Nitro a bigger deal due to wwf actually buying out WCW? I remember the last Nitro and it was shocking to me because it was still a few years before I used the internet and i was only 13 years old. I had no clue exactly what was happening. I don't think at the time, I was like 12, I thought much about the business end. And I really wasn't around for Nitro, but it was pretty lame I remember. Just out of place. I don't recall it lasting more than that first Sat. It may have gone on for a few weeks. It was long time ago now so the details may be sketchy. But there was definitely a Mr. T and Hulk Hogan interview and an SD Jones match from the Philly Spectrum.

Didn't Atlas win the WWF tag title with Rocky Johnson? If memory serves correct the first weekend that AWA All Star Wrestling didn't air on Saturday on TV 20, WWF aired a show on Sunday morning and Atlas/Johnson vs. Wild Samoans and Capt Lou accidentally hits a Afa with a chair.
Did I mix stuff up? If so who was Atlas' partner? Putski?

Just about anything looks awesome on blu-ray. I'm watching The Help tonight on Blu-ray and see it being just as awesome visually and sonically as Dark Knight Returns. Although super hero and pixar movies get the edge because of special effects.
