It took 2 pages for calling a “Triple H nails the boss’ daughter!” joke lame to be labeled a BAD FAITH TAKE. Good luck everyone.

It would be funny if he did undergo this massive heel turn but he was still the same jobber he’s been for the last couple years. Like the week after he turns on Cody, Johnny Gargano makes him tap in 5 minutes.

2 Cold Scorpio’s Dropping The Bomb (moonsault into a legdrop). 2 Cold also had one of the best 450 splashes around. Also, the Tumbleweed. Hell, let’s just say any time 2 Cold Scorpio jumped off the top rope.

I am going for the lowest hanging fruit, HHH HBK’s “computer skills” is one of the greatest commitments to a bit I’ve ever seen in my life.

Would the Corbin dog food stuff be the historical rock bottom point? Given that it was that angle that made Roman decide “Things are either changing drastically or I’m just retiring”, things changed drastically when he returned in the summer of 2020 and those changes were the beginning of the company’s massive upswing.

You just need to look at his twitter likes, and it's easy to see why Tony has no interest in using him. He really thinks Punk did no wrong in attacking Jungle Boy. Pretty sure Tony only signed him for the merch sales in the first place.

10/10 for FTR Armed’s Bart Simpsons T- Shirt & Rod & Todd Flanders shout out. Oh my god, why aren't we calling him FTArmed? It sounds great but looks off typed out. Like you need the capital R but FTRmed seems like some illicit prescription plan Bald is running so he can provide for his family.

Tony is onto something here with backstage camera footage. Next week he should show backstage cam footage of Buddy Matthews eating food out garbage can. Show Yuka's backstage altercations and they'll triple the ratings. This is the only interesting post to ever appear in a ratings thread.

Some wrestlers come out in suits, some come out in their ring gear….i think FTR are the first to rock the “Laundry Day” look during a promo.

Since Shane seems to be running away with this, I’ll throw out Stephanie when she first started. That was sort of the point during her Women’s Title reign but when she was fighting Trish in early 2001, Trish had that thicc fitness model build and yet Steph, looking like she could bench 35 lbs, usually whupped up on her. She shared Shane’s magical McMahon toughness I guess.
When Steph started hitting the gym, she looked fine (and I do mean fine) in her later ring appearances but those first couple years, nah.

I watched most of the chase as it happened. My dad & brother were watching the Knicks/Rockets game when it cut in and yelled for me to come watch. It’s really morbid to think about watching it now, given that I think everyone watching was sure OJ was going to kill hinself or the cops would shoot him.
I got to see the verdict live in school the next year (I was 14/15 through this whole saga). The way they handled it was the government classes got a TV and all the other rooms would send someone to watch and report back. I happened to be in government class when they read it, so we just watched tv the whole period.

Norm MacDonald up in Heaven right now doing one heck of a Weekend Update episode. “This week’s big story; Murder is now legal in the state of California.” I would recommend the absolutely brilliant Oscar-winning documentary “OJ: Made in America” to anyone who hasn’t seen it. Just a fascinating deep dive into not only OJ himself but the history of Los Angeles, race and the judicial system, everything that went into that trial and verdict

The only reason Sable became a "wrestler" was because her popularity overshadowed her then husband Marc Mero that they decided to give her a push. The story about Luna Vachon being told that she’d be immediately fired if Sable came back with so much as a bruise on her after a match they had is still one of the saddest backstage stories I’ve heard.

He’s sort of in that zone Foley was in during the early 00’s where it’s walking a tight rope between sweet and creepy. Dudes can use Starbucks cards too, Punk.

Has WWE made enough snide AEW references over the last few months that’s it’s probably fair to call it a trend? Sure.
Is AEW within its rights to respond in kind? Sure.
But some of these “WWE spent the entire build to Wrestlemania shitting all over Tony Khan’s hopes and dreams!” takes are a bit much.

To add on to this, considering how many of his complaints seem to boil down to money ("they aren't a real business", "guaranteed contracts make people lazy", etc), it almost seems like he came in to AEW thinking "Tony Khan hired me as a consultant as well as a wrestler, I have the largest contract, I'm The Draw tm, so we're gonna run this show my way". However, he soon discovered that other people whom he may have seen as "below" him on the company hierarchy, like The Elite or Chris Jericho, had just as much sway backstage as he did. "I make the most money, so I call the shots" didn't work in AEW the way it may have worked in other places like WWE, and that may have rankled at Punk. Well, also remember that Punk has pulled the presumptuous Big League Locker Room Leader card in a lot of places before, including WWE. Like in his first night up in WWECW after coming up from OVW, where he stepped up to call a locker room meeting out of nowhere to address some backstage issue. Or when he criticized Chris Jericho and Edge (two guys who REALLY don’t need his advice) for watching hockey instead of wrestling backstage (and even, per Jericho’s account, retaliated against them in the ring by refusing to tag Chris in during a tag match and Punk working the whole match by himself while Jericho spent the whole match shunted off to the side). The dude really seems to bring this presumptuous “I’m the veteran who’s here to drop some wrestling wisdom” mindset wherever he goes even when it’s not warranted, and while that may not have been too weird in the already hierarchical culture of WWE, it’s super off-putting in the more egalitarian AEW locker room. Was it Punk who declared himself a locker room leader and told everyone to tidy up after themselves and Booker T threw some trash on the floor while he was still speaking?

Edge spearing Jeff Hardy from a ladder. No, not the one from WrestleMania X-Seven. He did the same spot to Jeff back on the September 25, 2000 episode of Raw. I remember that one because I was there! First Raw to air on TNN/Spike.

When Cole said the other night that Roman had 31 title defenses in his reign or whatever it was, my jaw dropped. Like, that's not something to brag about, WWE. Champions who work house shows do that in less than three months. I I read some post the other week that Roman would have to defend the title over 300 times in 6 months to actually match Hogan’s reign.
