Why was referee Jessicka grabbing Priest's leg?? The ladder was broken. She shouted at him to get rid of it.

We sure this isn't a Collision taping? Seems a few too many people in the crowd for that.

Also spotted on Youtube what seems to be a new version of "Kingdom" so take that for what you will as well. Yeah, Downstait just released a new version with AJ Channer of Fire from the Gods. Not sure I'm a big fan of the rap verse at least but we'll see if they use it first. He did also say stuff about WM would bring in a "new era," which could mean Cody winning. We'll see but with Interest-Draining Dwayne around I'm not hopeful at all. I really hope I'm wrong but I don't trust Triple H to do the right thing here, especially given last year Wasn't that Vince's call at the last minute to keep the title on Roman?

Won’t be surprised either way. Honestly don’t care too much either way really. Whatever happens going forward will just have major Rock involvement for no good reason anyways. edit: voted yes I agree. I think no matter who wins, and however things play out, Rocky is going to be the main focus going forward. He's already taking the spotlight off of both Roman and Cody. I voted 'no' as I genuinely think WWE could end up having Cody choke again. Who knows, maybe Roman retains, then Rocky's like "Now Cody's book is closed for good The Rock wants to finish HIS story!" Rock's going straight into a movie shoot after Mania pretty much, so he'll be gone until at least the Summer, assuming he plans on making more regular appearances. Personally, I doubt we'll see much of him before 2025.

Yes but I'm fully prepared for him to lose again somehow.
Something like Priest cashes in to make it a 3 way and eats the pin.

The problem with that is the feud, which should be Cody Rhodes versus Roman Reigns but for the past three weeks has been Cody Rhodes versus The Rock, becomes Roman Reigns versus The Rock. The Rock should be a side character in the championship storyline, instead he's front and center. Hell, now that he called Seth Rollins a walking clown emoji (like six times), the Rollins-McIntyre feud on Raw becomes about The Rock. He's inching dangerously close to becoming WrestleMania XL Poochie. Oh, he's already there. I feel like if this was anyone else, (like you know wHHHo) people would be shitting on this in the worst way possible. I don't know. Feels like we're already at the dumping stage for many people. Personally I feel his inclusion has elevated the whole thing beyond a rehash of last year. Not everyone's cup of tea I grant you. The other issue, is that if an old star from a bygone era can turn up and outshine your current top stars....then that isn't a great indictment on your current roster.

I'm a little baffled, I had such an opposite reaction to most here. I thought it was great. Isn't a big part of the point that Roman is feeling diminished by this and his paranoia is ramping up again? Rock going on these long egotistical rambles, making it all about himself, to the point where Roman has to interrupt and grab on to his comfort blanket of acknowledgement? That Rock does so with a flicker of annoyance and fake sincerity? That Heyman is terrified his meal ticket is going to come to blows with him and that a split is going to happen? Even Heyman suspiciously catching Rock not going along with the proper Bloodline gesture at the end. All this to a backdrop that Cody is getting his rematch and the pressure is already on for Roman to deliver again. Everyone's body language seems to be playing it this way. If this isn't how it plays out ultimately then mea culpa. But Rock making himself more important, Roman feeling overshadowed, all that stuff, seems entirely what they're doing here. Agreed. It seems entirely intentional. I feel a number of posters on here are unironically working themselves into a shoot (brother), simply because they don't personally like the guy.

Cody Rhodes being the first person to get Rock booed in over 20 years isn't something I'd have put money on a couple of years ago. I'm not sure it isn't the same situation as previous though. The fans decided that Cody had to win the big one this year, so anyone else was getting booed if they were in that spot. Same reason Batista and then Roman the year after were booed because they didn't put Daniel Bryan front and centre in 2014/2015. Put anyone in Rock's position and they were getting the same treatment vs Cody.

Before all this, I thought Roman had a hell of a shot at retaining. I think he still does. But after all this, come on. I think you’ve gotta give it to Cody lol. Business wise, it can still lead to Roman versus The Rock at Saudi or SS. Absolutely does not need the title. Friend of mine is confident Roman’s retaining. We both have long hair and are teasing the idea of doing hair versus hair. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared shitless betting on Cody lol The only reason for Roman to retain is to break Hogan’s record. If they wanted him to retain, they would make it a triple threat with the Rock I feel like. At this point, this is Cody’s second straight shot after winning back to back rumbles and him losing again would be terrible writing. Cody is on fire right now and the fans DEMANDED this match. He HAS to win. This is also a decade anniversary mania which is where big shit happens and where the underdog prevails. If Cody doesn’t win this, the company deserves to go under He had to win last year too. I was as shocked as anyone when he didn't and I'm half expecting them to do it again this year.

JUst because they actually pivoted like they logically should have, doesn't mean we can't still rake them over the coals for needing to pivot in the first place or being confused at how the story doesn't make sense. You're not raking them over the coals. You're bitching on an online forum. Unless of course you're a shareholder, then rake away at the next meeting.

I don't make many friends on this forum. But some of the names that were bitching and whining here in 2011/2012 over Rock being involved, are still bitching and whining now, 12 years later. It was never about the storyline, but rather who was involved. Each to their own I guess, but I'd get bored of hating by now myself. Go on just tell us what to do with our nuggets, man. I would suggest consuming them orally, which I would hope is the accepted method.

Look, I’m not trying to imply that narrative structure in wrestling or any genre period isn’t important. No, they shouldn’t have tried to put Rock in the match. Yes, the WWE writers fixed a problem that shouldn’t have been broken to start, I agree. What *I* don’t get is this seething and continued angry tone in the last few pages that the booking mistake happened. Well just like ten years ago, they made an adjustment and presumably it ought to lead to an entertaining weekend coming up. Are you guys so mad to where your excitement’s totally gone now? It's the main reason I'm not posting much in this thread anymore. If it's about Cody's story then we're in a better position than a few days ago and unlike the Vince era when something like this would happen, we see improvement. I don't agree with the "I'm not giving em credit for doing what needs to be done" stuff when people call someone a bitch just because Cody doesn't pick em even though they've won all their matches these past 8 months while being injured. People on this forum give credit for all sorts of stuff. It's sort of a case where when everyone was all mad things were good and cool because we were on the same page but the moment they're doing something to where people aren't as mad it's apparently a bad thing people are cool with the result just because others are still upset. I don't make many friends on this forum. But some of the names that were bitching and whining here in 2011/2012 over Rock being involved, are still bitching and whining now, 12 years later. “Well it doesn’t make much sense narratively” Who gives a f***? People who care about narrative structure? "This story doesn't make any sense," isn't exactly a fickle complaint. I do think some elements of the IWC do have a habit of over analysing every minute aspect of a storyline. Sometimes it's easier to just roll with it and see where it goes. Even if it does make no sense.

Even if it was planned out from the beginning, it's pointless, incoherent, and treading on ground I'm utterly tired of having to deal with in wrestling. I'm personally far more inclined to say they pivoted, because what all has happened in the past week genuinely just does not make any sense for where they wound up, but if it was a work the whole time then great, whatever, it sucks either way but at least they wound up where they should have just gone in the first place. I’d push back on the pointless part. They’ve increased interest in the story and Mania, and reinvigorated the Bloodline story when it’s kind of been limping along for months. It feels fresher now than if Cody simply called out Roman in a rinse and repeat of last year. Not to mention, what's the point in any creative, if we just end up with the end result immediately? Yes, it can miss its mark as it did with this one I'd suggest. But I'd rather a cluster with some added spice over a cookie cutter build.
