they are now at 3.275M 25k away from their second goal. edit: they updated the mystery person on the Kickstarter banner and Emily is officially a host now too. I'm interested to see how they will handle this. The ending of Season 12 gives a reason for Emily to be there rather than Jonah, but that would mean different bots...either way, she has done well from what I've seen from that re-riff and this past Turkey Day, so to get her on official episodes is cool. MST3k doesn't care about continuity. As they say in their own theme song... If you're wonder how he eats and breathes And other science facts Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show, I should really just relax"

I feel like I read this was a Peacock request but yeah, it’s pretty dumb. I think Peacock had a thing to do with it. But not as a request from them. WWE may want more eyes from Peacock viewers. So using the WrestleMania name to boost viewership of a b-level PPV could do it.

Plus as a casual viewer of AEW I feel irrationally alienated by his expectations of my knowledge. This is my main issue with AEW as a whole. It's main storyline depends on the viewer watching NJPW 10 years ago. Many of the others expect you to watch both Darks as well as BTE every week. They reward the hardcore fan and leave most of the casuals lost.

This is what people always fail to understand. Fox wanted to sell. And was going to sell, regardless if it was to Disney or not. The other option was Comcast (NBC/Universal). And they fought until the bitter end to buy Fox. There was no scenario where Fox doesn't end up being bought by an already major player in TV and Film. And Comcast's strategy was to hold things off as long as possible rather than actually "wanting" Fox because, well, we get where something like Disney+ is now with all the options rather than that all going to a Paramount+ on steroids. The entire 20th Century Fox library would make Peacock a lot more interesting, though. And you know Comcast is going to hold those theme park rights to The Simpsons and Marvel (in Florida) as long as they possibly can, just so Disney can't have them.

I'll just flat out say it right now; There's zero chance Disney buys Sony in the form it is now, especially when it's actually doing as well financially as it is right now. The key thing to the Fox deal was that Fox themselves thought the film and TV line were losing them money compared to Sports and News so the sale was much easier to justify. Like, unless Disney are going to get into TVs, video games (HA!) and electronics in the next few years...doesn't seem likely.

Before anyone jokes/panics...it's just the rights to carry Sony's movies. Disney does not own Sony. Yet. (dammit I couldn't help it) This IS the case, isn't it? Demolition Man got it wrong. It's not Taco Bell that ends up owning everything, it's Disney.

If you're making a movie about the creation of The Muppets, Disney would have to be involved. And I'm glad Henson and Disney are working together on this.
I wonder if the film will cover The Muppets short time on SNL, or would they skip that time entirely.

If I can be serious for a moment, the "Commander Azeez" thing really annoys me for a couple of reasons. A) The new name is stupid - was Babatunde somehow not Nigerian-sounding enough? B) This is a guy we've seen twice before on TV, in minor but still noticeable roles (hard not to be noticeable when you're built like that), under different names. Apollo is a heel who, as of late, has been all about "this company forced me to hide who I really was!" If you had any writing ability whatsoever you could, I dunno, maybe draw a goddamn parallel there? "Babatunde was forced to hide who he was, just like me - but now we've both embraced our heritage, embraced our names, and we will be unstoppable!" or something? Instead of trying to pretend that the 7-foot tall Nigerian guy is someone we've never seen before? It's nothing new in WWE. Husky Harris and Bray Wyatt were sold as two different people. Same for Issac Yamnkem, Fake Diesel, and Kane. Golga and Earthquake. Papa Shango and The Godfather. And so on. It's actually rare for WWE to acknowledge a wrestlers former gimmick on screen. X-Pac/1-2-3 Kid and Goldust/Dustin Rhodes for example. The biggest one that I can think of is Vince on commentary constantly correcting Roddy Piper that Saba Simba wasn't Tony Atlas.

These aren’t shirts, they’re shorts, but... shop.wwe.com/collections/mens-bottomsThe newest ones they’ve put up, and the placement of some of these phrases... Mate, anyone who wears these should be on some kind of list. "Let Me In" "Two Words For Ya" "Head Of The Table" These were not placed by coincidence.

Not sure what Kevin Dunn’s alleged deal is about the women’s accents. Even coming from the old school mindset that seems to permeate at the top of WWE, that the women are mainly there for their looks (they’re not)—personally, I generally think an accent from an attractive woman is incredibly hot. He's racist. He apparently also had a fit when Becky Lynch got over. Moving on... That's not racist. That's xenophobic.

I was kind of expecting Balor to debut on Smackdown and face Reigns. Balor requested to go back to NXT. He's never going back to the main roster as long as he can help it.

Samoa Joe is the only surprising one. I wonder how serious his injuries are. I did like him as an announcer. Heavy Machinery and Ilconics should still be tag teams, but I'm really only going to miss Peyton out of her, Billie, and Tucker. Kalisto was pretty popular for a time, but they seemed to forget about him once Rey rejoined rather than use it as an advantage. I would have had them team together and then feud. I think that was the plan at one point in time. For years, WWE was trying to find the next Rey Mysterio. They just decided it was easier to just rehire Rey Mysterio. It makes me worry about Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik. How long do they have before they also get the ax?

When you make a 2 hour "apology" video. It doesn't come off as sincere. She's making herself out to be a victim. She had a bad take that could be taken as racist, and was called out on it by people of color who tried to explain to her why it came off as racist. She then doubled down on it and deleted her Twitter. Now here's this 2 hour video saying how cancel culture is bad. This isn't an apology. This is making it all about her. Getting ad revenue, plugging her Patreon, and plugging her book. It didn't need to be 2 hours. It didn't even need to be 5 minutes. It could have been a tweet. The whole thing comes off as disingenuous. It's not an apology video though. As someone else mentioned it's a very raw take on the twitter mob mentality how disheartening and dangerous it can be. Hell there's an entire segment dedicated talking about how the same people who harassed her are also targeting Sarah Z and Contrapoints. Did she address the actual Asian people that called her out on a bad take that could be seen as racist or did she just address the white people that attacked her? All she needed to do was address the legitimate concerns of the Asian people that responded to the tweets. Understand that what she said was wrong and why it was so. And apologize accordingly. She couldn't do that. Instead, she makes a 2 hours video with ads painting herself as the victim. Also plugging her patreon and book. Fame comes with people who want to see you fail. But also comes with people who want to see you become better through different viewpoints. Lindays sees these as the same. It doesn't help her that she defends an aids joke in the first 10 minutes of the video. I'm not white. I don't think Lindsay is racist. But her bad takes do come off as such. All she had to do is understand why it was wrong. And move on. You don't need a 2 hour video to say that.

She was up against better opponents regularly. If you look bad against Matthews, Del Ray, and Eagles, you just plain suck. Billie isn’t awesome, but she doesn’t suck. I mean I also think certain cosmetic enhancements she's had done haven't helped matters. It's totally her choice but I don't think there's been many female talents who have not lost a step after getting something like a boob job. There's nothing wrong with her going that route but it does seem to have a negative effect on ones skills. She's literally been looking lost since her NXT debut. Which was three years before the boob job. At first, I thought it was part of her character. But it really feels like she forgot everything once she signed.

I just researched the current meme; so is new Captain America supposed to be a joke? Like all those wannabe Batmen in the Dark Knight. Yes, his name is Johnnie Walker He also, at one point, went by the name Jack Daniels. No, I'm not kidding.

I always say this, but it's true.
The Billie Kay that's in WWE is not the Jessie McKay I first saw in Shimmer over a decade ago.
I would love to know what happened at the PC to make her regress so much. Six years in the WWE system, and she still looks lost in their ring.
I know she can do better, because I've seen her do better

Now makes me wonder if the episode where Darkwing meets the Devil is still out of rotation or if it is on Disney+. It's not on Disney+. You can't buy it digitally. And was omitted from all physical media releases.
