I wouldn't call it a joke, but it is fair to point out that the WWE Hall of Fame is not exclusively for the elite in wrestling. It's an honor, but it would have meant a lot more if they would have been more selective in their inductions.

Given the guys who probably won't ever be put in it simply because they're on bad terms with Vince McMahon and Co.--Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Team 3-D/Dudleyz--while it may not be fair to call it a joke, it's definitely hard to take it too seriously. I second this. *Bangs gavel* Motion passed. The board will not agree on the WWE HOF Seriously, if you have to be on good terms with WWE to get in & friggin' PETE ROSE & JAMES DUDLEY were inducted ahead of guys like Curt Hennig or even Cyndi Lauper makes it look ridiculous. Bob Backlund was said to be willing to be inducted 'til he learned that Pete Rose was also going to be in.

Some inductions are a bit iffy, but at least it's a way to help establishing some sort of "backstory" to the business. while celebrating the legacies of many valuable performers.
So I vote no, but I'd cut some names here and there...

There are people in every hall of fame that are questionable to those who know/care about them. These things have always been entirely subjective, so no, no more of a joke than any other hall of fame out there.

Walk of fame anybody? Now that is a joke. The WWE Hall of Fame is not.

It's not a joke, it's an honorific distinction given to guys to thank them. People do take it way too seriously about 'who should get in, etc.' when it's more just a "Thanks for the memories" thing.

I love the HOF concept for WWE. It gets old-timers the respect they deserve for helping the wrestling industry to become what it has become, and it also respects the hard work, the sacrifice, and the resilience to become the best they can be. Yeah, what he said.

I think it's a great idea. It shows that Vince is committed to respecting the workers who have come and gone from the company over the years. I personally enjoy it every year.

Where can I find a summary of Jimmy Snuka? www.wrestlingclassics.com/wawli/New161-170.htmThe second article down is from a 1992 newspaper story about the case by Irv Mushnick. Contrary to what the initial poster said, Snuka was questioned on several occasions, and the girlfriend's death was not ruled an accident. The case has never been officially closed. A few years ago, one of the investigators actually put up a web page detailing everything that happened during the case, but It's apparently no longer in existence, and I haven't been able to find any trace of it. He was certainly convinced of Snuka's guilt, and was also convinced that Vince spread some money around to make the case go away.

If he WAS, then the E would be smart enough to remove his name from the Hall of Fame and their history all together ala Chris Benoit.

Walk of fame anybody? Now that is a joke. The WWE Hall of Fame is not. Watch out... Lazlo Panaflex!!! It shows that Vince is committed to respecting the workers who have come and gone from the company over the years. If they're on good terms with him. If it was really about respecting the workers Randy Savage, Bruno Sammartino (who, in fairness, probably turned down an induction) & many others would be in. Ya think Vince would be willing to induct Kurt Angle right now? Pete Rose's induction is a slap in the face to the guys who actually worked hard for McMahon over the years!
