So essentially he's getting people to read his feature there by 'calling Jericho out' so to speak. Chris may or may not have lied, but it sure smacks of a dude with an agenda regardless.

Talk about petty. Sheesh
Nothing very major in all of that. Instead of Jericho doing something, he claims it was someone else. Well, after all this time, he could be mistaken. Even if Jericho wasn't the one to do it, it's his book, he's recounting stories, it makes more sense to say he did it, for the stories sake. It's hardly anything major, so I'd hardly think it matters. Big freakin' deal.
Then some petty stupid stuff about Jericho not liking certain people or not hanging out with guys. Again... BIG DEAL.

Pathetic!
I've always heard about how the Torch has had this weird anti-Jericho stance ever since he first debuted in WWE. I know they would have Sean Waltman complain about his ring work.
I can't stand Bruce Mitchell. Just another one of these bitter old school marks.

erm...which one? And keep in mind, wrestling "journalists" on the internet have spotty track records to boot...their memory could be just as funky as the wrestlers they cover. Hell, Bob Ryder still claims he's straight. Mitchell, while no Meltzer, is still a fairly reliable guy . Why would he open himself up to possible legal action from Jericho by lieing? It's one thing to say 'sources say' and 'this may or may not happen' but to come out and say outright ' this book is full of lies' he'd have to be sure he was telling the truth or Jericho would get his lawyer after him. Well...our opinions of Meltzer differ as well, then...not because Meltzer is wrong, but because the long and short of wrestling leaks has changed a great bit in the last few years. This is a great case to make an example of: without firm record, it comes down to he/she said vs. he/she said. There's very little way to verify either story if you realize the track record of said "journalists." I'm not really defending Jericho here, I just find it rather comical that an individual who has little recourse to fame comes out with these cool stories NOW instead of when he had an opportunity to write a book about them anytime prior. If Mitchell can provide some of them boys to verify those stories? Certainly...otherwise, we should, as equally responsible wrestling "journalists" (after all, we have our comments being published on someone else's dime right now), assume that both sides are wrong until we hear from one of those third parties for verification.

So, Jericho changed some minor bits of irrelevant anecdotes about a short (and marginal?) tenure in a territory early in his career.
Altering some things here and there is a common praxis among human beings. Not a big deal. He didn't claim he invented pro wrestling or found a cure to AIDS

Sounds very fishy to me.
We're not getting a primary account... We're getting an account that has been passed through two hands. I'm not saying Jericho is GAWD, but I'm thinking someone is very bitter about not making it in the business. After all, didn't Storm work in SMW as well? Aren't Storm and Jericho really close? And wouldn't Storm be the first to call out any questionable comments by Jericho instead of a guy that I've never heard of at all?

And wouldn't Storm be the first to call out any questionable comments by Jericho instead of a guy that I've never heard of at all? You make it sound as if Lance Storm and Chris Jericho spent 24/7 of their time together. You'd have to break away at some point, otherwise you'd end up killing each other. Why is it so surprising that Chris Jericho may have had a wild time without Lance around? In contrast to the videos Smoky Mountain Wrestling would show about the "Thrill Seekers", I find it hard to believe that Lance and Chris hung out at the pizza parlor playing video games and picking up girls. Chris may have went, but wouldn't Lance be working out in his free time? Checking out one of the many Civil War monuments in the territory? Sitting in his room with a good book? I can believe Mitchell. Now, if this had come from any of the other guys at the Torch, I'd be willing to call "B.S.". Besides, all these books have a few parts that employ "creative license". (Thank you, Mick Foley.) Even we, as human beings, tell stories that may not be 100% accurate. (Ask my brother, who can tell me something isn't true when I tell our friends a story I thought was one way, and he remembers another.)

Again, this isn't Mitchell claiming this stuff, he's reporting on an email sent to him by K.C. O'Connor, who was in SMW at the same time as Jericho.

Who cares if Mitchel is right or not. The claims being made are so petty and minor I honestly couldn't give a shit either way if Jericho's version or this nobody Mitchel has as his source is correct.
Sorry, but this is such minor petty crap, it hardly alters a thing either way.

In a shocking news release, People you like lie.
Yes. I know that we typically believe that people we do not like are liars, and believe any story that trashes them, but this shocking news report (from undisclosed sources) find that people that you like also lie.
More at 11...or not. I could be lying.

More at 11...or not. I could be lying. Fighting the frizzies at 11! Also, I totally misread the thread title as "Bruce Campbell accuses Y2J of lying", which would be the greatest feud ever.
