In January of 2003 Theodore R. Long lost about 40 pounds, put on a pinstripe suit and began managing the almost-white black man D-Lo Brown. Barely a month later he was managing the even whiter Rodney Mack.
My question is, when did T-Lo stop being "Down With The Brown" and start "Backin the Mack"?
And I apologize if anyone was offended by the way I described D-Lo and Rodney Mack.

I want to know how Teddy Long went from heel manager to face commissioner. He was managing Mark Jindrak on Velocity. And let's face it, how many people really watched Velocity? Anyhoo, Mr. MacMahon gave him the GM job and he has been a good guy ever since.

It still boggles my mind just how over teddy got. A c-rate manager and referee became one of the top faces on SD within his first couple months as GM

Well if I am getting the stroyline correctly, they are co-GMs and I guess Vickie is wearing the pants.

im still stunned by the unexplained role swap with vickie g We attempted to explain this in a thread a while back and came up with this (paraphrased): in the WWE world, executive positions can be usurped much in the same way that your buddy can take your recliner seat if you get up to go get a beer without saying "no takeaways". Long's hiatus was his "going to get the beer", and since he didn't call "no takeaways" on his role as GM, Vickie "took his chair"and became the GM. So now Teddy has to sit on the lumpy couch and wait until Vickie "goes to get a beer", provided she doesn't call "no takeaways" first.

Although this is the greatest explanation ever, if I recall Mr. McMahon gave Vickie the job the week after Long had a heart attack.

That happened on Heat a few weeks after Long returned to managing and started working with D'Lo. I saw it on a replay; it was an in-ring beatdown. And like a week or so later D'Lo was let go for real.

When he dropped D-Lo and brought out Mack, I knew who mack was.
But when Mack stepped through the curtain, I thought he was a white guy.

My friend asked me who Rodney Mack was as he quit watching by that point. I explained and he said Mack looked like a pale Saturn. I agreed, but said it was odd since Mack is black and Saturn's white. My friend studied the screen a bit, having had believed Mack was white too.

Rodney Mack was great, and he brought along his talented wife Jazz. I marked hard for his "White Boy Challenge". LOL, Bill Goldberg put a stop to that angle quick! Teddy Long is adequate on the mic, so predictable as he doles out punishment by making you "Go one on one with Da Unda-taker!" Seems like his heart condition went away miraculously, just like Ric Flair's did in WCW. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). It's a shame Teddy Long didn't got to consummate his marriage to the lovely Krystal. Sofia Vergara, anyone?

It would have been awesome if Mack really was a white guy, but neither he nor Teddy understood why people thought that he wasn't black.

i also remeber mack being on sd a few weeks before the d-lo beatdown. he came out and attacked b-squared (bull buchanon when he was with cena), was called m-dogg or something and was supposed to replace squared as cena's partner but then dissapered to raw within a week or two of that attack.

I remember when Mack debuted on Smackdown as John Cena's sidekick for a few weeks, after Buchanan was let go. He was still known as "Redd Dogg" and he would howl at certain points during his matches.
And apparently I'm not the only one.
