With Jeff Jarrett, the new Midnight Express (Bob Holly and Bart Gunn), and Jim Cornette, was this really a crossover talent exchange or were these four doing an NWA angle, something like a very boring and pointless "invasion"? Thanks!

All four were under contract to WWE at the time, so it was a very pointless "invasion". It happened with the blessings of the NWA though.

It was pointless and the NWA backed out of it shortly afterwards.
However, you can't really blame either. NWA was pointless at that time with no television exposure, a fairly crappy indy scene as well as WCW and then ECW killing their crediblity over the course of the 90's.
WWE was still competing with WCW, and trying to make the angle a success would be a shot in the dark risk that they weren't willing to take and honestly, never should've attempted it.

The Headbangers won the NWA Tag Titles, that was enough to make it great. Bart Gunn and Bob Holly held them as well!

That's the only thing I remember about it.
That and Jarrett had some title too.

Didn't Dan Severn make his debut in WWF with the NWA title and some other belts?

I remember the NWA Tag Titles started with the Rock N Roll Express, then they lost them to the Headbangers and Jim Cornette fired them and brought in Bombastic Bob and Bodacious Bart, who won them from the 'Bangers.
The NWA title was decided in a match between Jeff Jarrett and Bradshaw I believe. Barry Windham turned on his New Blackjacks partner and helped Jarrett win the title and joined the NWA stable. They had a rematch at No Way Out in 98 as well.
Then Severn shows up and is the NWA Champion and carrying around his various UFC belts I believe.

As a fan of the old school, I cringe at the thought of how irrelevant the NWA title has become. This angle is a reminder that it's not at all a new thing.

Yeah, it was the North American Title that Jeff Jarret held during the iNWAsion. His rival, oddly enough, was Blackjack Bradshaw. The faction also included Barry Windham, who blasphemed Bradshaw and joined the heel group.
It was an okay idea. However, it sucked as far as an invasion went. Invasions formula is something like this. 1. Invaders show up. 2. Invaders dominate the promotion. 3. Faces organize, repel invaders at a big showdown. That simple. These guys, just kinda drifted around the midcard. Heck, I remember the whole thing, and could not tell you why they where in the WWF. Feuding with Bradshaw and the Headbangers isn't really something the fans will care about. It would be as if the Outsiders showed up and challenged Harlem Heat.

It was an angle that didn't make sense. Jarrett feuded with Bradshaw and defended his title against such stalwarts as 8-Ball. The R&R Express first beat the Headbangers because one of the 'Bangers threw Morton over the top rope which was cause for disqualification in the NWA and Tommy Young called for the bell. Then there was a rematch but with a WWF referee and again one of the R&R members was tossed over the ropes but this time the Headbangers gained the pinfall and the belts. I think they held them a little over a month and lost to the New Midnight Express...then that was it. Dumb.

The only thing I remember about the angle was Bob Holly with bleach blonde hair. *shrugs uncontrolably*

However I believe that when Dan Severn came in, he was the holder of the NWA World title at the time, and brought the World title in for the rest of the NWA stable run. I may be wrong, but I think thats how it went.
