NWA wasn't a major promotion? Anybody that thinks that TNA and ECW were bigger promotiions than the National Wrestling Alliance needs to study up on their wrestling histories. Period. The NWA at one time was the biggest wrestling promotion in the U.S. with the AWA running not too far behind. Actually, without trying to hijack the thread, the NWA was not and never was a promotion. It was a collection of promotions all working together. At various times, it included the WWWF, ECW, AWA, World Class and many, many others. The promotion most people equate with NWA today would be JCP, or Jim Crockett Promotions, the Atlanta-based promotion. While many people consider it THE NWA, it wasn't. It was just part of it.

Actually it is ironic that Jim Crockett Promotions is the promotion I watched growing up with Florida and Georgia Championship wrestling also. You see I started watching wrestling in the late 70s so I am familiar with what you are talking about. Of course the NWA was a loose organization of territories. But nevertheless ECW and TNA both probably never even close had the mainstream audience that even Jim Crockett Promotions had. So that is why I found it interesting that someone may have thought ECW and TNA were bigger than the NWA. Not even close.

Kamala? Junkyard Dog? I was gonna mention Kevin Fertig, but he wears those generic ones now. A shame.

Earthquake and Typhoon wore trunks... just they wore a shirt as well.
And All Snow used to wear trunks I thought, until moving to the bike shorts.
Bret Hart wore the trunks too, when he tagged up with Owen at that one Survivor Series... right?

just to add something not very productive to this topic, ive always suspected guys who dont wanna wear trunks or tights are often 'masters of the small package'
