WWE would like Carlito to stay with the company after he gave his notice a few weeks ago. However, he is leaning towards leaving in a few weeks.
On the heels of Booker T leaving WWE a few weeks ago, apparently they don't want another huge WWE name to make the jump to TNA and that's why they want to keep him around.
Carlito wants to leave the company because he is upset with how the company has treated him in recent months not to mention that he feels WWE has tried to humilate him.

He does make a point about being humiliated, espicially in the past few weeks.

What was that gimmick Mr. B invented for TNA-era Carlito?
Copious Carlos Caribbean Colon or something like that?
"I hock loogies in the faces of people that don't want to be fly."
Wow, if TNA DOES sign him and do that, I owe that man some internets.

Carlito, a huge star? Don't think so. I think he's over with kids, and that internet fans are not his target. Although I like him. I hope he changes his mind, then they can bring in his brother.

They want Carlito to stay, yet they book him in that match last night? As awesome as the APA was, it's still him jobbing to Hornswoggle.

I'm aware that internet fans aren't his target, but since when kids were? I don't think even adults mark or care for the guy.

I like Carlito. He can be pretty good on the mic and his in ring work isn't hoorrible.
It would be cool if he stayed, but only if they were going to do something with him. If a feud with Hornswoggle (And Wile Coyote Vignettes) is all they can do with him (ITs the most air time he's gotten since his heel turn on ric Flair...not including the 5 minutes he starred as a victim of Triple H's Roid rage in a cage), then why not dump him. They got tons of guys they seem to have no interest in pushing anywhere, so why not let this one go. If he makes a name for himself later on, they can always hire back (to job) then.

I thought Carlito wanted out of WWE cos he didn't really care for wrestling much? Wasn't that the "official" word going round a few weeks ago? If so, what's the point of going to TNA (to be a no-doubt future champ)?

Being paid handsomely to wrestle at most 5 times a month probably appeals a lot more to someone who doesn't care about wrestling much as opposed to 3-5 times a week.

Perhaps they do, wasn't aware as I don't watch a lot of his matches and when I do, I never noticed that. Apparently it's not enough as he gets next to no pop when he comes out and his music doesn't do him any favors either.

He's ok but if he leaves I'll get over it.
He's decent in the ring at best and his promos aren't exactly exciting. They seemed to lose sight of their vision with him shortly after his debut anyway I think.
If he wants out, let him leave. Keeping him around when he doesn't want to be there isn't doing anyone any favors.

Another case where NEWZ sites have conflicting facts. So, does Carlito want to leave the WWE because he doesn't like to wrestle or is he leaving because he feels that TNA will treat him better?
