I dont think they were supposed to be impersonators as much as just give an air about who they are. Like the billionare ted segments.

Right now, SpikeTV is producing high-production quality online shorts with the intent that some of the more popular ones will eventually get their own web series, or maybe even their own series on the network.

I have a few friends acting in another one of these SpikeTV web projects. I have no idea if this was the intent of the Angle short, but I wouldn't doubt that Spike thinks they could possibly develop an action/comedy series starring Angle (no Impact jokes).

So I highly doubt that TNA was behind this, it's probably something that Spike was just throwing out there to go viral, and at the very least, expose a few people to Kurt Angle and the TNA logo at the end.
