they should give him like a happy-go-lucky type of gimmick. have him lose a bunch of matches at first, but then he can be like, "thats ok. the important thing is i tired, and i'll do better next time." then eventually he just snaps and takes a wicked heel turn, and you have a new cruiserweight champion *coughRockyMaiviahackwheeze* psh, whatever. he'd be on smackdown, so little kids will like him, and then there'll be less violence in the world. isn't it perfect? i love my land

Haha. This would be an awesome gimmick. He could be a really well-adjusted guy who had really supportive parents growing up, and is totally complacent, win-or-lose. Doesn't care about winning. He's just out there because he enjoys it. There'd be a place for that character in my WWE. Not necessarily the Eugene version. Agreed. I can see a promo when people boo him like Rocky maivia... "It's okay if you boo me, I'm still livin the dream!"

Sydal could come in and work as Vince's 14-year-old son...
You know, that would be a twist. They could just say he was in OVW for 12 years.

i think going to the WWE is a good move for him. think about it, with three different brands each with there own roster, and with people changing brands during the drafts, thats a whole lot of people that the tag whore can partner up with ;D

Kudos to Sydal for following his dream.
And to those that expect he'll get a dumb gimmick: It hasn't happened to Punk, it hasn't happened to Cabana (Well, he's being himself in OVW), and it hasn't happened to Spanky or London.
But honestly, he'll need a mouthpiece, because, mic-wise, he's blander than rice cakes marinated in mayonaise.

Congrats Sydal, and good luck. I've enjoyed his work ever since he started in St. Louis.

i hope it works out well for him. i think his best bet is smackdown because he would be best suited in the cruiserweight title picture.

You go away for the weekend and you miss out on big news.
I'm not the world's biggest Matt Sydal fan, but the boy can go. Best of luck to him in the 'E.
