- Triple H loses the neon vinyl pants (DX's prime) for the simpler, shorter trunks ('99)
- Mankind permanently adds a white shirt and tie
- Faarooq's post-Nation singles gear (more colorful)

- Randy Savage wrestling in a shirt all the time
- Ted DiBiase's all-white look with Money Inc.
- When Hercules went from black trunks to navy blue, and later light blue, which made him look like a pansy

I never liked Kane losing his sleeves, then his mask, then his vest. And as for the Mickie change, you can apparently blame Kenny for that, as apparently he doesn't like Mickie showing off her legs or something.

Hated the whole Mankind look in general-Cactus Jack was much better
Flair doing away with his purple trunks

Powers of pain after they split in the WWF and had their own makeovers-nothing worse than that

-When NWO came to the WWE, and Scott Hall stopped wearing the Maker's Mark/blood drip knee and elbow pads for his short run. I always thought those were pretty cool.
-When the Freebirds went from rebels to wearing glitter and long gloves.
-"American Badass" Dieseltaker.
-Dusty in polkadots.
-"Kung Fu" Superstar Billy Graham. Graham's said that Jim Crockett finally forced him to knock it off, because he wasn't paying "Superstar Graham money" for the guy come out in black karate pants.
-That Bret Hart outfit circa 1994 with the tiny paint splotches all over the singlet, where it looked like wore his wrestling gear while he painted seven houses (I only saw this a few times, but it was brutal).
-When Konnan went from tassled lucha superstar to street gear and a wifebeater. He seemed like a bigger deal in a real wrestling outfit, IMO.
LIKED:
-Hollywood Hogan's original NWO gear.
-Pretty much every time Muta reinvents himself.
-Shelley and Sabin's matching MCMG gear.
-Orton switched from those blue and neon Adidas-looking biker shorts he debuted in.
-Most wrestlers deciding to wear knee pads after 1980.
-Whoever the first guy was that decided to wear kickpads in pro wrestling (Akira Maeda?). It's been overdone since, but it was a cool introduction.
-When Jarrett switched the weirdass Double J-suspenders and stuff to his current look (though his gear looks pretty stale and dated now).

Huh. I never even knew he did that. You learn something every day. i thought everyone knew cuz when it finally came off,his chest was more defined when he flexed or just when he's stand there. To be fair, the reason he got it was likely since he used to carry more bodyweight, circa like '98. When he lost weight, he must of had trouble ditching that. Being Samoan doesn't help, to be honest. |
