Here's some info posted today by Meltzer:
--TNA Impact did a 1.2 rating on Thursday and one of the bigger audiences in the show's history, and that was going against a big football game. Spike was beyond thrilled.
--TNA has announced a big surprise announcement for tomorrow night's show. They will be announcing a two-hour show although we don't know the start date (believed to be early October). Regarding a former world champion and rumors, I know of three who they are talking with at least somewhat seriously and one there is some confidence they can get, but I don't think anything is done yet. I'm not including Brock Lesnar in that list because Lesnar appears to be UFC bound.
--We still don't know for certain who Ron Killings will team with tomorrow night. Jeff Jarrett was attempting to work out a deal with the Titans to allow Pacman Jones to wrestle and they would agree on how much he could or couldn't do.

Any speculation on the 3 former World Champions that they're in talks with? I'm guessing Sabu, Flair, and Goldberg with Sabu being the most likely to sign with them.

Remember folks, TNA once claimed Test was a former world champion.

How could they sign Flair? Unless I missed something, I thought he was still under WWE contract.

I say it'll either turn out to be RVD, Sid, Flair, or Brock. Probably RVD.

He does own the name, so he wouldn't have to do that. No Robbie V in our near future.

I'm sure it's Brock. They really want Brock/Angle 2.

I'm sure it's Brock. They really want Brock/Angle 2. That already happened, in Japan.

But I imagine he probably won't be able to do anything for the remainder of his contract anyway. You're assuming Flair's under WWE contract, and not working on a deal in good-faith with Vince like Hogan, Piper, etc. If Flair were known to be under a rock-solid contract to WWE, none of the news guys would still be speculating that he may be heading to TNA in the very near future. If Flair were confirmed to actually have a WWE contract, all of that type of speculation would've been squashed immediately by Meltzer or somebody.

Maybe the line "One down". Anyway, I bet it's either The Iron Sheik, the reanimated corpse of Frank A Gotch, or Shawn Stasiak.

Hmmmm, I was just checking out WWE.com's Title History section to see who could possibly be coming in, and they've eliminated all of the pre-"Extreme" ECW title reigns. How long ago did they do this? The caption at the top of the page even still says "Check out the history of the ECW Championship, from Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka all the way up to CM Punk." But, the history starts with Shane Douglas' first reign. I guess Johnny Hotbody is no longer a recognized ECW World Champion.
