I have nothing against parodies. Just do them funny TnA. I'm begging you.
Or at least a snide tongue and cheek comment would be nice.

I think I laughed harder when Teddy Long suffered from a heart attack.

The reason why this was bad is because BG James does a crapty Vince impression. But it wasn't terrible in the context of TNA doing them in the middle of last year's DX "I love cock" shenanigans. I stopped even TiVo-ing RAW during that period. It was brutal. I didn't have a problem with TNA and VKM making fun of WWE when that was going on. Somebody needed to, and it isn't like SNL was going to satirize how crapty those DX skits were. Yeah they were so crappy they made money for the WWE. Meanwhile TNA did an angle with VKM with no payoff that netted them no money.

Meanwhile TNA did an angle with VKM with no payoff that netted them no money. I thought they were crappy. I never said that they didn't make money. I'm in my 20s now, I'm not the audience that they were trying to appeal to with those DX skits. But maybe it's just me, I thought it was lame the first time around...and I was 15. Plus, many more people than I thought 40-year old Shawn and Hunter's juvenile skits were terrible (even their own pal Scott Hall said so in his shoot), or TNA wouldn't have gone out of their way to make fun of them. But yes, DX made people laugh, and for fans like me who rolled their eyes and/or stopped watching, they scored new little DXers out there who thought they were pretty sweet. If you thought that was top notch humor, more power to you, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. And business was so great last fall compared to where it was in the WWE five years ago that it really paid off in the long run. More importantly, dude, thanks for chiming in yet again just to disagree with whatever I have to say. Awesome! I get it, you and I like different stuff.

That's true. And the ECW Steve Austin promos also tied in with his character and highlighted his determination to win, so the references were appropriate. TNA has always shown itself as the skinny kid with a Napoleon Complex when surrounded by giants That, along with all the other stuff I mentioned and the TNA thing serve for one thing: "These guys suck, and we're better". It can serve to promote someone(ECW/Austin stuff), to promote something(The TNA/Angle thing, The WWF Huckster stuff, DX), to trash something only(Cornette) or just to make fun of it(CHIKARA's Umaga and Khali things.) It's something to basically say how we're better. It's not only wrestling, as the whole "Mac vs PC" thing, The "Subway vs Wrong Way" and the old "Atari & Colecovision stuff was similar. It doesn't mean one side is insecure or something. They just want to promote what they have, and that is all it is, an ad that showed up on Spike TV.com. and BTW, the Eric Bischoff parody Austin did was appropriate to his character and determination to win how? While many people are going on tangents about TNA being stupid for even trying these shenanigans, most people in this thread are still only saying that this skit just wasn't funny. Period. And I agree, I don't see how Austin's parody of Bischoff helped show his character and determination to win the title, but, unlike this, it was actually funny.

My question is this...
Where the Smurf is the one where Vince and HHH search for the Cookiegate tape?!
That was probably the funniest parody of Vince ever.
'There's the tape, GET HER!' *girl screams, runs off and drops tape. 'HHH' then smashes up tape with sledgehammer* 'SMASH IT! SMASH IT TO SMITHERIENS!' *'Vince' picks up tape* 'The best of D-Ray 3000?! *slaps 'HHH'* YOU IDIOT!'

Seems that the only TNA moments I ever see uploaded on youtube or dailymotion are the really bad ones, while the handful of good moments seem to be cast by the wayside.

What I can't stand is when someone points out something stupid that TNA does, and the defense is "OH YEAH? WELL LOOK AT THIS STUPID THING WWE DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Not "It's not stupid and here's why" or "It's kinda stupid but it accomplished this", just a sad passing of the buck because it's the only defense they can come up with. And also, just because someone thinks a skit is lame they are not a "TNA hater" Man I hate the word hater. I feel like a tool just typing it.

The fact is not only WWE does it...but nearly every promotion does it to an extent. This one skit was done badly I'll admit.

Just to point out, nowhere in the Billionaire Ted skits did Vince ever offer anybody in WCW 1 million dollars to come and fight someone from the WWF at the Alamo.

What TNA does, and why they do it, we may never know. By showing us some guy who used to work in Conn. return to the place where he used to work and beat up immitation of the former employer's workers not only show that they have no clue what to do, but also show that they know how to waste money, of which they don't have aplenty. Perhaps they are trying to catch someone's attention, perhaps by showing this, they'd hoped that Vince would somehow react, thus garnering them easy publicity. Maybe it's a case of punks poking rich guys with sticks. At some point in that "Angle vs. Conn." video, Angle said more action and less talking, or something to that extent If that's the point of your video, then why made it like that. You could have made like two TNA guys walking down the road, then they meet up with some other two TNA guys, then all of a sudden they break into a fight.
TNA has some good action some of which are quite pointless but good nontheless. And if they want to keep up to their name, these kind of video's must stop. Now sober me up, I'm drunk.
