However, I've always thought that an interesting difference between pro wrestling and amateur wrestling is that it does not have weight classes. Anyone can wrestle for the world title, regardless of size. I have always, always, always agreed with this notion.

The X Division should be booked like Original ECW did its TV Title, IMO. Where it's not the Standard Bearer title, but it belongs to Truly the toughest SOBs in the company, who then defend that title to all who want a go at it, rather than just the #1 Contender.

I think people hated eddiesploitation so much they looked for an excuse to hate rey as world champ, granted i understand dislikeing him for going along with the storyline but if eddie could be champ and rey could beat eddie...then rey could be champ

I liked Rey as champ......I thought it gave a unpredictabiliy to the title changes, which is Good if done well. I didn't like how they booked him AFTER winning the title, but that's WWE's fault.....not Rey's.

I thought it was called the "X-Division" because the title had to be defended periodically in an Ulimate X or Elevation X match.

No, Ultimate X is called Ultimate X because it's usually for the X-Division title.
There was only Elevation X match, it wasn't between two X-Division guys. It sucked, and there should never be another.

Camera guy constantly trying to keep a promoing wrestler in focus, thus making it seem like the whole thing's being taped on a boat... AJ Styles is still technically X-Division But yeah, that match sucked...of course, most scaffold matches tend to suck. I still haven't figured out what Team 3D's doing to justify receiving paychecks. It's obviously not anything entertaining or worthwhile.

AJ Styles is still technically X-Division But yeah, that match sucked...of course, most scaffold matches tend to suck. And Rhino's not, so it wasn't between two X-Division guys. That was the first scaffold match I've ever seen and boy did it suck. I still haven't figured out what Team 3D's doing to justify receiving paychecks. It's obviously not anything entertaining or worthwhile. Brother Ray is my mortal enemy. He tore up my last pig sign, and threw such a fit at me the entire crowd was laughing at him. Now I've got an even bigger, better pig sign waiting for the Dec 4th impact tapings. Our war will continue until Bacon boy is no more!

Dixie Carter NEEDS to watch The Rise and Fall of ECW, especially the part where Paul says he knew he couldn't compete with WWE and WCW in production quality, so he didn't try to. He hid his negatives and showcased his positives, he did his own thing.
TNA's production quality can't compete with WWE, but they keep trying, and they keep looking second rate. Same with their talent that has been released from WWE. They've got their own, good, talent yet it's the guys we've already seen (and are either tired of or offer nothing new) that take up most of the airtime. Of course there are exceptions to that and we know who they are.
The announce team is constantly shouting at each other "DID YOU HEAR THAT MIKE?" No, probably not, cause you're yelling at him, and even if he did "HEAR THAT," he probably didn't hear anything after cause you were talking. SHUT UP!
And WHY do they keep telling us "there are no glass ceilings here in TNA." What does that mean? Are they telling me there are in WWE, despite the (then) lightest weight guy on the roster holding THE title. How about the fact that a talentless hoss held the title for nearly a year over people everyone knew were better suited. Jeff Hardy getting main event slots when he probably isn't that good compared to the rest of the possibilities, whereas in TNA, he may have deserved it. Just who is TNA talking about when they say crap like this, when they repeat it constantly? If there were no glass ceilings, there wouldn't be "fight for the right" and "#1 contender" matches, it'd be anyone who wants a match.

I'm sorry, but X Division sounds a hell of a lot cooler than "United States Champion."

Yeah, I stand by what I said about the name of the X Division. I don't think it sounds even a little bit cool, and I already explained why.

Dixie Carter NEEDS to watch The Rise and Fall of ECW, especially the part where Paul says he knew he couldn't compete with WWE and WCW in production quality, so he didn't try to. He hid his negatives and showcased his positives, he did his own thing. BINGO! From this casual fan's perspective - with a few exceptions, TNA looks like they went through a time warp and became the WWE of the late 1990s. If TNA wants to be serious competition to the E, TNA needs to be different from the E. Yes, the six-sided ring is different, but it's not going to give the casual wrestling fan a reason to stop watching the E and start watching TNA. In TNA's defense, they are using one of the strategies that helped WCW get to the top. The audience once viewed WCW as a regional organization with second-rate talent. By getting main eventers from the competition (first Hogan, then Nash, Hall, Savage, and Piper), the fans' perspective of WCW changed. That said, TNA are getting more things wrong than they are right. TNA pushes ANYONE who was associated with the E, and TNA lets a number of them use a slight modification of the gimmicks that they used in the E. Again, from this casual fan's perspective, I feel like I went through a time warp and landed in the late 1990s. Yes, nostalgia can be fun in wrestling, but it should be treated as a "special attraction", not as a main gimmick. Regarding their production values - actually, I think that they are getting a little bit better, but I think that their editing and camera shots need work. They need to work out the basics before they start using a fancy light show and fireworks. Agreed - TNA needs to change the commentators. Mike Tenay is good, and he has the potential to be good "lead material". When he's doing play-by-play, he's very good. Unfortunately, they're trying to make him into a "character", and he can't pull it off because he's not a good character performer. TNA needs to keep him as a straight play-by-play man. I understand why TNA chose Don West - he's a "fresh face" in the wrestling world. It's different. Unfortunately, he's not good - the cameras keep catching him reading the script, for crying out loud! I agree that he also SHOUTS TOO MUCH. Get someone else in for color, preferably an ex-wrestler or ex-manager who can talk.

I agree, and I just think the name of it is just lame. The X Division, like it's so cool to use the letter X even though it has nothing to do with the title because everyone knows X is the coolest letter. It's like some ten year old came up with it. No offense to any ten years old that might be reading this. In Rome, you'd call that same kid an X-year-old. ;D But yeah, I agree. Just make it the TNA TV title or something. Or like a previous poster said, make a submissions-only title, or maybe even some sort of MMA-inspired championship. Speaking of "corny names" and "old-school style," something about the name "Brass Knuckles championship" always sounded way cooler than "Hardcore champion," but that has nothing to do with anything so nevermind. Also, if they had kept their alliance with the NWA, I think they should have found a way to drop/change the TNA part of the name. To me, that's the biggest disadvantage they have to attracting casual or non-fans. "Hey Friend, wanna come over and watch some TNA?" "Sure!" *friend comes over to see two shirtless men in tights pretending to fight* (I love that description, by the way, for its sheer ridiculousness) "I thought we were gonna watch some tits-n-ass? What's this gay crap? Screw you, loser! I'm going home! I hate you and everyone who looks like you. Go die in a lake."
