Man I didn't know Lex was in that bad of shape. What gets me is where he says he'll be "seriously happy" if God makes him paralized. Ummmm if God made me that way I wouldn't be so happy that I would do backflips...well because I wouldn't be able to. You really gotta maybe admire or scratch your head when you hear stuff like that.
A Statement From Lex Luger To His Fans Around The World "First, I want everyone to know that I truly appreciate all of the prayers & support. People ask me at the hospital, How are your spirits so good? I tell them because I have Jesus Christ in my life. The doctors are absolutely puzzled on how this happened, and if it is going to be permanent. They did see inflamation in the x-ray around a disk near the spinal cord." "I want everyone to continue to pray that God's will be carried out through this time. If God's plan for me is to be a paraplegic, then I am seriously happy with that. God is in control, and since he is the creator, and I am the creature, then why should I question His decisions?" "Finally, I want you all to know that life is fragile, and we need not to take it for granted. Life is a Gift from God, and we must live everyday for him dude. Think about this for a minute, if you drive a Ford (or any car) and you put water in the gas tank, what's going to happen? You will ruin the car. When Ford designed that car, they designed it to work properly only if you put gas in the engine. It's the same with life! God made us & designed us, so if we don't fill ourselves with Christ, then our lives are not going to go the way they were designed to. That's why their is so many problems in our world. We are not filling ourselves with the one thing that makes us operate the way we designed to. Well, that's enough preaching. Thank you so much for the prayers & the continued support." "If you have any questions or you would like help support in anyway, please call my manager, Graham "Tony" Tchividjian, at (877) Lex-Luger or (954) 675-0552. Graham happens to be the Rev. Billy Graham's grandson, and he has an agency in Pompano Beach, FL called GT Agency, LLC (official website: http://www.GTAgency.net). He loves the Lord, and his main priority is finding ways to win people to Christ, not money." "I am going to tell everyone that they need to read Proverbs 3,4 & 6. That is why I am in such great spirits. Love you all." Blessings, Lex

so that's why my car won't start, I've been filling the engine with Satan.
I'm just hoping to get one of those hybrids to help the environment and cut down on the amount of Christ I need to use.

I feel sorry when people like this think God will pull them through or this is his plan, I love the optimism but people are completely deluded. I really hope he gets better though, I hate seeing my childhood favourites end up like this.

With all due respect for Lex and his beliefs, if God or who/whatever is up there did such a bitchy trick to ME, I' d kick them in the balls as soon as I leave my body. Just because they created us doesn' t mean they have the right to play with us like toys you break on purpose just for the hell of seeing what happens when you pull very strong on the leg or the arm.
And I' d like to know who the hell ( no pun intended ) benefits from the fact that one day, all of a sudden, God decides that it would be really cool that mister Lex Luger doesn' t walk anymore. I mean what would God get from THAT ? How is it supposed to help anyone, no matter their godly or mortal ?
Anyway, I' m glad Lex seems to be taking it okay and I seriously hope he eventually recovers, he' s had enough crap happen in his life recently. Hey God, that' s not funny, leave him alone, already.

Come on. I guess that would entitle having faith in God as many do. You may see it as delusional, but they don't. It's their belief.

I direct you toward the teapot analogy. To each his own I guess as I disagree with what you've said, but honestly I don't feel like fighting about it. Everyone has different faiths, what may be strange or delusional to you, may not be for the next person.

Even though I'm atheist and hate religion, I applaud Lex for staying true to his own beliefs. If he feels that religion will help him get through this, then that's awesome.

Sometimes it takes an accident to really take stock of your life and see where you been and where it's going. People need something to fill that empty spot in their lives, and if Jesus is what it takes to fill that empty hole, you have to respect the man for his choice - no matter what he's done in the past.
As Dennis Miller has said, "God is the ecclesiastical white-out in some people's lives."

Before the lock here's my two cents:
To me being an atheist is about freedom. I have the freedom not to believe. And nobody is allowed to force their beliefs on me.
If I try to force MY beliefs on others who don't share them, how am I any better than the fringe elements of religion?
Just because the First Amendment permits me to insult the believers, does this mean I have to?
I can't stand atheists who insult religious folks. They are just as bad as the religious folks who insult atheists.
I ask both: Why is it so important that everyone agree with you? This is America, and we should respect each other's different beliefs.
Sadly there will always be people who abuse freedom of speech to denigrate those who believe differently than they do.
