I've seen italian mob gimmick, and even a Yakuza; but I have never seen an irish mob gimmick. I'm sure one has been done, and hope someone has any information on it. How do you guys think one would work?

It's funny, me and Spankypak were discussing an Irish gimmick.
Only it would be called the Irish 'Rasslin Alliance. Think about it a little....

Ryan O Reilly is looking for a job. Has the Irish Mob had any influence since 1920? I prefer my gimmicks relevant. Russian or Republican mafia makes more sense.

How about four guys with distinctive wrestling skills and a manager who carries a hurley club?

He said outside of the UK, it wouldn't be a big deal, and I guess he's right. FBI went over well enough in ECW.

The Irish mob is still doing pretty well in the Boston area and in a few isolated pockets of New York, but other than that they're pretty much dead in the U.S.

Theyre basically a Uk equivilant of the NWO but a lot more terroristical (that should well be a word), invading all the brittish indies They plan on being the most heel stable in the history of wrestling

I'd love to see a gimmick inspired by "The Departed"

I know. Get Ryan O'Reilly and someone else to be the Boondock Saints, get Stevie to be Rocco and Finlay to be Il Duce.

Worked pretty well for them, considering how little is known about them. I'm from South Boston, by the way

Being from a HUGE Irish family that is rooted all across USA I can tell you the Irish mob is still around and doing fine for themselves. Though, Whitey Bulger screwed over a lot of people in his day which lead to a slump in business.

Amazingly enough in my digital fed I had an irish wrestler allied with a sort of catch-all mafia stable (in that it had italians and Irishmen in it, or i never defined the nationalities too well...something like that)

How about four guys with distinctive wrestling skills and a manager who carries a hurley club? Damn... THAT is genius! Pure GENIUS! Whoever came up with that idea is smarter than Stephen Hawking & more handsome than Brad Pitt & Johnny Depp combined! I wouldn't want to be associated with a terrorist group... Hence my argument with Spankypak that even though I came up with the name, it wasn't the best idea. He said outside of the UK, it wouldn't be a big deal, and I guess he's right. FBI went over well enough in ECW. It's so unbelievably offensive that there'd be riots if any promotion featuring said group were to perform just about anywhere in Northern Ireland.

In my fed, I have an Irish mob gimmick. Collectively, they are known as the "U.A. : The Undefeated Army", which is a nickname for the I.R.A... The poster boy/ring leader of this motley crew of drunken Four Horsemen, is "T.K.O, Taylor Kennedy O'Reilly"...just imagine Mickey from Snatch.
