Preliminary Fights

At first glance this card does not seem particularly good. At second glance, it looks mediocre at best. But looking at the name of the event, "Validation", I can see where they are going with this.
Bisping v Evans is a battle between TUF alumni and has a conflict of styles that will prove to be very interesting. Whoever wins will likely be moving towards an imminent title shot.
Silva v Alexander looks to be pretty interesting as well. Silva has yet to beat a real contender, and Alexander is a rising star in UFC after defeating Keith Jardine by TKO and Alessio Sakara also by TKO. Jardine recently defeated Liddell by decision, and this is a case where the winner of this fight will definitely move up in the rankings and be seen as a force in the division.
Terrell v Herman is a fight I'm looking forward to even though I'm not a fan of either man. Terrell has been out of UFC for a long while now after a humliating loss to Evan Tanner and he's looking to return. A win here could cement him a slot in the UFC. Herman, a runner-up in TUF, needs a win over an established name like Terrell to secure placing in this division.
Chonan v Parisyan is another fight I'm looking forward to. With Chonan coming over from PRIDE - bringing with him a win over none other than Anderson Silva - he is looking for validation in the United States. Parisyan wants to move up, and facing someone with a win over the dynamic Silva is a sure way to do it.
Edgar v Fisher seems like a wildcard fight. Edgar has been to the UFC before and has 2 wins to his credit. However, he has yet to get the name recognition of even Spencer "The King" Fisher, who is a rising star. Fisher has fought 7 times for UFC and is 5-2 in those 7 fights. One of his losses was by split decision, and he recouped that loss by defeating that opponent in a rematch with a unanimous decision. You also may remember his flying knee knockout of Matt Wiman. Whoever wins this fight is definitely moving up in the ranks.
While the card is not about high-profile fights, it is about establishing future stars for UFC. Even though it does feel more like this could be on free TV.....
