I can think of two reasons why the "Death of Hardcore Wrestling" has become a popular theory in the IWC. 1. Vince McMahon/WWE have pretty much succeeded in killing the legacy of ECW, and making it seem that the company and anyone working for it/associated with it was nothing but garbage wrestling. and 2. This sudden outpour of "concern" by the IWC over the dangers of "Hardcore Wrestling" after the whole Chris Benoit thing. The same people who would spooge over Uber violent matches are now Down on "garbage wrestling." Not because they are REALLY concerned, but because they want to SEEM like they're concerned. I dunno, personally I never liked super-violent Hardcore matches at all, as to me it doesn't involve a lot of skill to get hit in the head with glass or fall on thumbtacks.

LOL... How is Cincinnati for wrestling? Do you guys have a nice Indy scene? Im in Steubenville Oh and it use to be a little hot spot here for Indy Wrestling, since we are in the middle of Columbus and Pittsburgh, but no one has ran here in over 10years. It is decent. We have 3-4 consistent local feds and few ones that run spots shows: NWF (where Abyss, Chris Harris and Jillian Hall came from) HWA (kinda in limbo right now) New Era (Hyponitix use to work for them) Buckeye Pro Wrestling (Sharkboy's company which runs shows only once every 2-3 months) Ego Pro (the former HWA owner, Cody Hawk's fed which is trying to settle into a new location right now) Then OVW does shows here every month and then there is the New Jack Fed.

Beat me to it. HWA used to be on the CW Network right after OVW every Saturday afternoon. Then, as I understand it, Cody Hawk sold the HWA to my brother-in-law's cousin, which was then re-dubbed EGO Pro Wrestling. EPW only lasted about two months before being yanked off the air for someone dropping the f-bomb during a promo. The editors failed to beep it out before the final product went to the station. Thus, now all you get is OVW, followed by Bonanza on Saturday afternoons. Nowadays, HWA is running shows again, but I haven't heard whether or not we will see them on TV again. I don't think Ego Pro Wrestling is dead, but I don't know who's wrestling for who. I haven't actually been to an indy show since I left New Era Wrestling. Having a kid really changed my priorities. I still talk with some of the guys, here and there, but I haven't really followed the local stuff much. But Cincinnati does have a great Indy scene.

Both EGO and HWA had shows like 2 weeks ago. HWA Adrenline is still/back on the America One network, but most of it's highlights from what I am reading I always heard it had something to Cody defaulting on the loan to Les Thatcher or Les just selling it to somebody else from underneath Cody who was renting to own HWA.

For all you guys who want another laugh, I just got off the message board that I found this poster and info, and apparently New Jack is starting his own wrestling school in the area. First Day of School: Student One: Mr. New Jack, sir? New Jack: WHATCHOO WANT?! Student One: What will we be learning today? New Jack: GUESS!! Student two: Basic drilling? Jack: NO! Student 1: Taking bumps? Jack: NO! Student 3: Execution? Jack: THAT'S CLOSE ENOUGH! Student 1: What are you doing with that knife?
