1.The Briscoes
Always bring it all to the table. Great matches all year whether it be against MCMG, Castagnoli and Sydal, Roderick Strong & PAC, Kevin Steen and El Generico or even against each other, these guys know how to entertain and are not afraid to take risks.
2.Takeshi Morishima
Although he had his detractors, Morishima stepped up big time. His matches had a big time feel to them, and by the end of each one the crowd was on their feet. Check out his matches with Shingo, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Nigel Mcguiness and Danielson
3.MVP
The guy is making that U.S. Title. Can get it done on the mic and in the ring. His feud with Matt Hardy has been one of the highlights of Smackdown
4.Undertaker
One of the legends that can still go in the ring. This guy carries Smackdown and is still one of the top faces in the industry.
5.El Generico/Kevin Steen
These guys came into ROH with something to prove and had such a good showing that you couldn't help but want to see them back again. Pushed the Briscoes to the limit, El Generico coming in 2nd on the R2TT, being PWG tag and world champ, Kevin Steen being PWG tag champ and getting a ROH title shot these guys had a great year.

I don't get to see anything but WWE and TNA, so I'll just comment on those two. Also, these are not my favorite, but more who I thought had the biggest year:
1) Kurt Angle- best combination of technique, athleticism and mic skills in action today 2)Shawn Micheals-close to Angle in technique and athleticism, maybe better on the mic 3)John Cena-I can't really warm up to him, but he does get a crowd riled up. 4) Christian Cage-finally seems to have hit his stride in TNA. solid technique, outstanding on the mic 5)Black Machismo-what a great gimmick! may be a flash in the pan however.

Ok, for my true favorites:
1) Ric Flair-the best of all-time. Still great on the mic, and can still tell a story in the ring, despite his diminished physical skills.
2) Jerry "The King" Lawler-not a great athlete, but good worker, and fabulous talker. He had a big year-involved in multiple angles, with several matches-more than in recent years.
3) Kurt Angle-great athlete, great technician, great talker
4) Black Machismo-best gimmick of the year
5) AJ Styles-good worker and he really showed me something on the mic this year.

1. Christian - Great promos and matches. The mvp of TNA. 2. AJ Styles - Funny as hell. Not only has his personality improved, but so has his wrestling. 3. Tomko - Good in the ring and surprisingly good on the mic. 4. James Storm - Great wrestler, great gimmick. 5. Motor City Machine Guns - Great wrestlers and funny as hell.

As my list will reflect, I mainly watch ROH.
1) 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson - Rebounding from his shoulder injury Dragon continues to be 'The Best in the World'. Proof in the pudding: vs. Nigel (Driven), vs. KENTA (Driven), w/ Nigel vs. Marufuji/Morishima (United We Stand), ongoing feud with Morishima.
2) The Briscoe Brothers - Love them or hate them, I happen to love 'em. A dominant tag team who have been the focal point in the main event scene for several months. Proof in the pudding: vs. MCMG (Good Times, Great Memories, feud with Steenerico, feud with NRC, feud with AotF.
3) Nigel McGuinness - Currently overcoming an injured bicep to bring prestige to his World Title reign. Against Morishima in Tokyo Nigel came out looking like a true superstar.
4) Kevin Steen/El Generico - Steen is a brutal, no-nonsense heel, Generico the exact opposite. The unofficial odd couple of professional wrestling, and such an interesting dynamic played to perfection. Their feud with the Briscoes is my feud of the year, cementing their spot on my list.
5) Erick Stevens - Choo Choo, the little man beast who could. Stevens debuted in March and quickly gained steam with his impressive showings against the No Remorse Corps. Already garnered a world title shot and now looking set for a feud with Austin Aries.

No particular order:
1. John Morrison - Very athletic, and has emerged as one of wrestling's unique characters. Best catchphrases this year, I love the Palace of Wisdom stuff. Also, I loved it when everybody made fun of him for getting suspended and talked about how there was no way he could maintain his look without 'roids and then he came back looking exactly the same.
2. Christian Cage - One of the stronger presences on-screen in wrestling today. I love "The Instant Classic" name. Always kept my attention with his promos and in the ring. At this point I have no criticism of Christian Cage, he is approaching legendary status.
3. Samoa Joe - Didn't have a lot of defining moments this year, but continued to be one of the best new stars in mainstream wrestling. I still haven't seen a Joe match I didn't like.
4. John "Bradshaw" Layfield - Didn't wrestle much this year, but added a lot to Smackdown, and my biggest markout moment all year was when he took out Undertaker and Batista. At this point I'm way more excited about his return to wrestling than Jericho's.
5. Santino Marella - Took a bland gimmick and somehow became one of wrestling's most colorful characters. Amazing. His on-screen relationship with Maria has also been the most interesting take on the "jerk boyfriend/hot girlfriend who could do better" scenario in a long time.

1.) Cowboy James Storm ![](http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/j/jamesstorm/09.jpg) It was just this year that the Cowboy became my personal favourite wrestler. He entertains me in every way and really seems like a total package of skills, power and one hell of an entertainment factor. AMW was a solid team, but it really seems that Storm is the Shawn Michaels of the former Tag Champs. 2.) Kurt Angle ![](http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/k/kurtangle/96.jpg) The most dominant force in the "sport" today. People may complain about him being TNA champ, but I like to see him in that position with people chasing him for the belt. Without any doubt he has great technical ability and is a credible contender for a World Title ANYWHERE. 3.) Robert Roode ![](http://www.wrestlingrevealed.com/images/2/robert-roode.jpg) Like James Storm, a total package of power and technical ability. Wrestles a great old school style and I enjoy watching his character, which has more than one (evil) trait. 4.) Randy Orton ![](http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/r/randyorton/26.jpg) Like it or not. Call him "Resthold Randy" all you want, he IS one of the faces of wrestling today and will be in the years to come. I like watching him wrestle and he has some great signature moves. He is a great charismatic heel and really someone that stands out in WWE. Furthermore, he has the greatest pose ever ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) 5.) Kazarian / Jeff Hardy ![](http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/f/frankiekazarian/14.jpg) ![](http://tombstoner.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/jeff.jpg) I cannot decide who I would place higher in my list. Both have come a long way to be serious upper card competitors in the future. Kaz seems a bit better technically, while Jeff has the upper hand in the charisma department. I hope that both will keep up their good courses in 2008.

Santino Marella -- His in-ring work leaves something to be desired and the Milan Miracle was a bit of a pantload. However, he has really stepped it up with some very entertaining and thoroughly comedic skits. They became one of the reasons that I was tuning in to watch Raw.
The Briscoes -- These two men are amazing athletes and excel at what they do.
Chris Hero -- The man came to ROH full-time and became the 2007 Survivor of the Survival of the Fittest. He is in line for great things and has a great gimmick/stable in ROH.
Takeshi Morishima -- Easily one of the more improved wrestlers in 2007. I went from general apathy to marking out for him.
MVP/Shawn Michaels -- MVP has really stepped up his game, shown improvement in promos, character development and in-ring work. It appears that he has a very eager willingness to go out there and do amazing things. His work on SD! makes it watchable and had a really great feud with Matt Hardy. I also put Shawn in there because of his WrestleMania match and the 1 hr. match he had against Cena. He's still got some really good matches left in him and proved that in 2007.

1) John Cena. Definitely this year world wide he as put on the best matches. He has put on most of the best matches of the year against a wide range of opponents. From high flying guys like John Morrison, to the more grounded technical heel style of Orton, to the power style of Lashley, to the Hard hitting samoan bulldozer, to the Greatest Wrestler of all Time SHawn Michaels. THe Man has had a break out year in-ring wise and on the mic. I think had he not got injured we'd be seeing him putting on even better matches. I can't wait for Cena to return and keep busting his ass in the ring.
2) The Briscoes, undoubtebly the tag team of the year for 2007, though they are spot monkeys they are basically the 2 guys who have carried ROH throughout 2007 putting on great match after great match.
3) Batista, I Know people rag on him, but every PPV this year has involved Batista in a World Title match, not only that, but more often than not his matches have been excellent. Whether they be against Edge or Undertaker, or both...hell even his triple threat against Kane and Khali was good. Not to mention that Punjabi Prison match. I don't think anybody had high hopes for that match at all, but Batista and Khali put on a good match. Hell Batista's crazy leap from the top of the cage to the other cage is INSANE.
4) Cybernetico. I know "trademark luchador just put in to look like i have knowledge". Bah, Cyber carried Triple A to the top of Lucha Libre this year. Basically AAA has booked around Cyber who has put on some great blood filled brawls and has carried fueds against Mecias and the foreign invaders. He's probably hitting his stride in the ring too. One of those guys that gets hated on for "Workrate", but he has been good in the ring and is basically THE STAR of AAA.
5) Christian Cage. He's been able to draw out the best in a couple of guys who have been on such a slippery slope of suck. Booker, Angle, Joe, and others have had a lackluster year ring wise, yet against CHristian they've had some really good interestingly booked matches. All that plus he's really hit his stride in promos and segments. I'd love to have christian cage on my roster.
6) Bryan Danielson, pound-for-pound the best in the world. I'd really love to see what he could do with some guys in WWE. From ROH champ, to being the current PWG Champ. Bryan Danielson world-wide is recognized as an awesome talent. Great matches with CIMA, Morishima, Marufuji, KENTA, El Generico, and even Joey Ryan. Awesome to watch live, the guy just is great. Now if only he would grow back his beard and start wearing that cloak again.
Guys who've had a breakout 2007: 1) MVP seriously last year all we could do was lamente on how much he sucks, how stupid his outfit looked, and how his promos were jittery. Not only is he good in the ring, his outfit looks cooler nowadays, and his promos are some of the best work in WWE. The dude definitely became a Star this year. 2) The Hardyz, though I hate them I can't deny just how much they have become an entity. I really wish they would tag team forever, and basically be the main event tag team, but that's never how wrestling works these days. Though I hope neither EVER wins the WWE/WOrld title I hope they continue to be staples of the Uppercard and help to solidify the US and IC title scenes. 3) CM Punk, ECW WORLD CHAMPION. Pretty much 'nuff said. 4) Umaga, great work from him all around. Though the booking for him has been at times questionable. He's always been delivering in the ring, last year he was just "some lame hoss" this year he's one of the best in-ring guys who's getting booked to look weak and pissing us off. 2007 was the launching Pad to Umaga becoming a fixture in the upper-midcard. 5) Hornswoggle, from comedy character who just went from being a sideshow, to being a McMahon. Hornswoggle is now a household name.

I don't get to watch Indies, Puro, or RoH, so my opinion may not be educated enough, but from what I got to see...
1. Edge - Edge was injured from a good amount of time, but he made "The Leap". He's a guy who can hold a belt and hold a show together. People become more important by being associated with him.
2. Christian Cage - Christian's been one of TNA's more consistent and solid performers, and has filled the "Complete Asshole" void left when Jeff Jarrett disappeared to grieve his wife.
3. Matt Hardy - For week, after week, after week, Matt gave it his all to have great matches with everyone put in his path. True, it doesn't hurt that Matt was given the likes of Finlay, Rey Mysterio, Regal, and MVP to work against, but Matt held up his end of the bargain and so much more. For most of the year, Matt's matches were THE reason to watch Smackdown.
4. CM Punk - I don't personally like the amount of overhype he tends to get, but once the Signature Pharmacy scandal hit, WWE needed a guy to carry ECW. Punk was that guy. For that alone, he gets this spot.
5. Kaz - 2007 seems like it could be a breakout year for "The Future". He was given a few big wins this year and his stock is on the rise. If TNA is interested in following up, Frankie could be HUGE in '08.

5) matt hardy: when we look back at matt hardy's career in the future, 2007 will be rrecognized as the year he established himself as a major player
4) john cena: managed to put on some of the best matches of the year. whether you agree with his push or not, you've gotta love his ring-work.
3) the biscoe brothers: from their show stopping encounter with the motor city machine guns to the mayhem of ROHs first ladder match, these two redefined what tag wrestling was all about.
2) bryan danielson: plain and simply put on awesome matches.
1) claudio castignoli: much like matt hardy, claudio spent this year showing us exactly how good he really is. he went from comic relief to a surefire main eventer.
honourable mention goes to MVP, CM Punk, shawn michaels, kurt angle, samoa joe, christian cage, kazarian, santino morella, beth phoenix, finlay, edge, batista, undertaker, the motor city machine guns, nigel mcguinness, jay lethal, john morrison, and anyone else i forgot.
