The NYG/NE game is the biggest of the year. Nobody will care about the Dallas/GB, NE/Indy match-ups two years from now. Whatever the result is, people will remember the game between the Giants and Pats.
As for the UFC, it may hurt the buyrate a bit but I don't think you'll see it drop below 400,000. The PPV doesn't start until 10pm (eastern), by that time if the football game is a blowout, won't people (who want to see the UFC) order the PPV and switch channels?

I don't think all UFC fans are football fans. Plus, the game's outcome will more-than-likely occur by the time the PPV starts. I wouldn't worry about UFC too much, they'll make out fine. And the Patriots are not "perfect". They're just going to be "undefeated".

Anything going head-to-head with the NFL is a recipe for failure. Take into account it's one of the biggest games in years, features the larges market in the U.S., and is being broadcasted on not 1 but 2 of the U.S.' "big 4" networks, and UFC is gonna get slaughtered in the ratings. High School Musical did and it won.... *gets hurled Bricks at* I'm not hurling bricks. Zac Efron is a MONSTER.

free NFL vs UFC- gonna have to go with the NFL- specially the chance for undefeated in a season- of course the fun will occur if the Pats loose in the playoffs after going undefeated in the regular season
I am not a Pats fan or a Giants fan( having been born in the Nation's capital- the most important game this weekend for me is Skins v Cowboys)

The audience for High School Musical wouldn't normally watch NFL or UFC, so being in competition with these sporting events wouldn't hurt HSM's numbers. I think it definitely will have an effect on the UFC buyrate, not to mention that UFC is about two years late in putting together their "Dream match."

Yeah, unless the game's a nail-biter I doubt that it's going to affect the UFC.
I know myself I am going to be watching BOTH because I'm hardcore.

Plus there's St. Pierre/Hughes III. I mean, I barely follow UFC but even I know this is a big show for them. I think they'll take a hit, but they'll mostly lose casual fans. They'll still get the buys from serious fans and possibly replay buys from casual fans.

Chuck and Wandy could only happen once. If the patriots do win on saturday they will be the SECOND team to go undefeated. to prove that it is not impossible.

Gamburyan isn't scheduled for PPV, I think. His fight may end up on the show but it's on the undercard.

Yeah, this is a HYOOOGE UFC event. You have probably two of the best in the world in their weight class right now (Hughes and GSP) fighting each other and Liddell and the Axe Murderer fighting each other in what will probably be their only encounter, not to mention that this fight has been a few years in the making.
I don't see UFC doing that badly.

the giants suck and the pats will destroy them it's only "big" because both new york and new england will watch And because both markets are close enough to ESPN for them to throw the hype machine into Full Throttle.
