What kills any credibility in news sites is the constant use of vague expressions like: "sources reported that..." "apparently" "X is said to..." "likely" "maybe" etc Not saying I disagree, but hey, it's worked for the entertainment industry for this long. Sure it has been working, and will work forever... It's the same concept of "LADY DIANA'S NEW SECRET LOVER" or "SEX, DRUGS AND FOOTBALL" headlines on British tabloids. The "journalists" take a rumour, or even a legit news, and make the proverbial mountain out of a molehill. And it works because that's the kind of crap the readers want. Same for wrestling news. I understand the very cliquey nature of pro-wrestling kinda forces the news journalists to rely on hearsay, third hand material, or plain conjecture, BUT, I still fail to get why is so important finding out the reasons behind a push or a depush etc. Someone being injured: news Someone having heat backstage: not a news. that's called gossip. Unfortunately the dirtsheets are too appealing to the average "smart" fan, and he'll die to go around bragging about how much "insider" stuff he knows... Telling your friends "X is maybe out for a month due to hemorroids" isn't half as cool as saying "X isn't on tv because he argued backstage with Y, who has a lot of power, so he went to Z and asked for X's head on a silver platter..." Wrestling news are basically wrestling gossip, or biased forecasting of future events, worded in the most appealing and vague way possible.

People will often defend that wrestling news is no different than mainstream news in how they get their stories and sources.
The thing is though, is I don't believe 90% of the garbage reported on CNN or FOX either.

I just stopped believing it unless I read it on either the Observer or PWInsider site itself. The biggest problem internet news (not just wrestling news but, all of it) are the sites that steal the stories and then repost it on their own sites (Wrestlezone and its hundreds of sister site and even Gerweck) with their own spin on it.
I have seen quite a few times where PWI said one thing and then others steal and turn it into something not close to the original report. Guess which one gets posted on here the most and believed? Then when the second stories new spin is horribly off or changed the report so much that it becomes wrong, no one jumps on them but, the original sources even if that isn't what they said to begin with. At least when the original reports are wrong they come out, admit it, apologize and move on.

I've seen insanely stupid comments and actions coming from both those stations. Although, in reality, mainstream news is different in how they do things, because they don't use nearly as many anonymous sources and don't report every rumor out they hear without attempting to verify it.

I've noticed for ages now how, when something from the Observer or any other site crops up, there are always the people who seem to think Dave makes stuff up It doesn't work that way. Never has and never will. Meltzer doesn't make up random stories so that people view his website. Nor does he sneak around Stamford, Conneticuit making up things about Vince because he feels like it. i'll just say this most of those rumors are hearsay or reported from somebody. Wrestling news is the same as celebrity gossip sites like perezhilton or tmz
