I have to say, I totally hate your best list.
You labeled two of the worst animes I've ever had the displeasure to watch as great series.
Allen Walker is a prime example of what I hate about fighting series.

Gray-Man is one(and that you would be the only one to call me on it), but what is the other?

Then has my gimmick of the past 6 months been in vain? I become politically active in Japanese laws, and this is the thanks I get? If we weren't seperated by a state border, I would slap you in the face! That guy was right: 2008 IS the year of hate. Oh come now, it's not only that...I didn't remember the names of any hentai series I saw this year. I'll make it up to you. We can do a play by play of the HentaiFest at A-Kon 19 this year. I can do a good Howard Cosell impersonation. "Down goes Imari! Down goes Imari! Right into the lap of Minase!"

I really wish i could get into anime, but outside of standalone films (i love studio ghibli) i just get completly lost. I can imagine its the same as picking up your first x-men comic

I can imagine its the same as picking up your first x-men comic Oh yeah, anime is just as complex and varied as comic books, only...there is like 1000 times more series in anime/manga than in comics, because most anime/manga series are short and when they end...they end. Another thing that helps is, when a character dies, they usually stay dead.

Gray Man take almost every award >___>;; Death Note ended in 2006 for the manga, and I don't like the anime too much, so it was out of question. To be considered, the series has to either still be going, or the majority of it had to happen in 2007. Also, I had to SEE/READ the series, and as such, no Gintama or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. And I just started watching Jigoku Shoujo, and it doesn't fit in any of the categories that made my final list, but take solace in knowing it got my Best Horror award(this isn't my completed list. I am still compiling the rest of the awards that didn't make this list and will add them in within a few days). Also, Bleach took all the bad awards, so what's the complaint?

Okay, the anime wasn't that great, but it wasn't that bad either. You haven't seen Gintama or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei? You're missing out on some good anime series. Also, I didn't know you were adding more to this o__O Wish I knew that sooner. Bad awards are a waste of time IMO. Since Bleach pretty much took them all, why couldn't you just say "Worst series of 2007: Bleach" and leave it at that? The other bad awards that Bleach didn't win really had no point.

Yeah they did, they were just prolonged ways of saying the following main points: - Bleach sucked this year - Naruto overall sucked this year(Shikamaru and Pein are pimp though) - The critics don't know what they are talking about(Mushi-Shi)

Also, as for not seeing Gintama and SZS, well, you can only watch so much series in one year. Several series you have to skip till a later time.

Otherwise, it's not hard keeping up with series since you usually have a week or more to watch the episode and they all release subs on different days. Plus, SZS is only a twelve episode series and it's only subbed to 11 right now. So yeah, not hard to catch up compared to Bleach and Naruto.

It was rediculous just how strong he got in less than five episodes from the first episode. It was just the typical male "LOOK HOW AWESOME HE IS" when it could have been far better. That and every other character in it were bland archetypes.

The other hated was Higurashi, which featured the most unlikable main character I've ever seen. He makes the dumbest blondes in slasher flicks look smart and deep in comparison.
Jigoku Shoujo is far better than either of the two I mentioned. That would be the best for me, bar none.

He is still pretty weak when compared to several other characters. First, you have the 4 Generals, Cross Marian, Sokaro Winters, Froi Tiedoll, and Cloud Nine, then you have Tyki Mikk, Rhode Camelot, and Lulu Bell of the Noahs, and then the Millenium Earl himself. Allen is still weaker than 8 characters in the series, and that is with him at MAX POWER. Goku he is not. If he was made into Goku, he would've been the strongest Exorcist by volume 7(when he got owned by Tyki the first time), and he would've killed the Earl by now. However neither of those happened yet. The only Goku-quality he has going for him is that he is the destined one to kill the Earl. As for the other characters, at their introductions, yes they were bland, but now by this point in the manga, if any character dies it will be a pretty big loss, as they were developed to be more than bland(well except for Cloud Nine and Sokaro Winters...I still don't care about those guys...).

Child-like innocence? Check. Destined to be the one to beat an evil force? Check. Gaining extreme amounts of power for no reason? Check. I'm talking about the anime, not the manga. You labeled D-Gray.man as one of the better animes, and as fans, we all know that manga are not always the same as anime. The fact is Mr. Walker is just the same crap again and again that ruins the fighting genre and I'm tired of it.

The fact is Mr. Walker is just the same crap again and again that ruins the fighting genre and I'm tired of it. He's just like that in the manga. The only difference between the anime and manga are the filler episodes in which they flesh out characters, more specifically characters like Suman Dark and Daisya Barry whose only appearances in the manga are RIGHT before they die so we know nothing of them. Also, his child-like innocence is just a facade. He isn't innocent, he just chooses to act that way because of his years training with Cross Marian, as Cross broke his spirit and made him have to do not-so-nice things to survive. Oh, and I never once said the anime was one of the best of the year. Aside from the Runner-Up for Opening, all the awards D. Gray-Man got was for its manga. All my categories, save for Best Anime, Worst Anime, Best Opening, Worst Opening, and Best Manga are open for both anime and manga to win. I was awarding the D. Gray-Man manga the entire time. It is just the anime helped it win 3 awards(Best Series, Best Fallen Hero, Most Heart Wrenchin Death), other than that, it was the manga all the way.
