Pac Man Fever.
You're the Best Around and Final Countdown go out first round? Bah. Damn, forgot to nominate "Lorelei" by Styx.

Since I nominated it and it will probably be the only vote it gets, I'll say Pac Man Fever. If it helps, I really like the song, and the album. And surprisingly it's 2-2!

Hall & Oates avoids what would have been THE biggest upset in the tournament past, present or future. ----------------------------------------------------- This might be the biggest match of the day so far. Cyndi Lauper - All Through The Night"All Through the Night" was the fourth commercially released solo single by singer Cyndi Lauper. It is noted for being one of the few Lauper singles not to have a videoclip released for it, since the record company wanted to know whether the singer could have a hit without one. It is still considered by many to be a classic of the era and continues to be covered by a variety of artists as recently as a June 2005 version by singer Tori Amos live in a Los Angeles concert (An Official Bootleg of the show, released in 2005, contains a recording of the performance). It is one of Lauper's most recognized ballads, and ends with one of the longest-sung notes in pop music. Vs. Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana"Dirty Diana" is a hit song by singer Michael Jackson. The song presented a harder rock sound than the previous "Beat It" had from the Thriller album. Jackson hired Billy Idol's former guitarist Steve Stevens to back him on the track. There was a mystery for many years leading to some speculation as to what Jackson was talking about in the song. Some say he was talking about his former mentor Diana Ross, whom he had had a crush on as a child and others thought he was talking about groupies. Quincy Jones later confirmed that it was about groupies on an interview from the special edition of Bad.

I don't think that Cyndi's version of All Through the Night was the first, but I need to look that up. It still gets my vote.

There were previous "All Through The Nights", but I don't know if they were the same songs or just the same title. Double checked. Her's was the first recorded version, she just didn't write it. It was written by Jules Shear, who also wrote "If She Knew What She Wants" for The Bangles.

One more of Michael Jacksons googleplex of songs moves on to round 2. ------------------------------------------------- And yet ANOTHER example of a hard one to choose if I should have left it for the Rock tourney. I kind of wish I had, but oh well. Survivor - Eye Of The TigerEye of the Tiger is a song performed by the American rock group Survivor, and is taken from the album of the same name. It was released on January 1, 1982, and was written at the request of Sylvester Stallone for the film Rocky III. Vs. Was (Not Was) - Walk The Dinosaur

Was Not Was Was Not a winner. ------------------------------------------------------ That last one was match #50! Almost half way home to the end of round 1! Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters theme"Ghostbusters" is a song recorded by Ray Parker Jr. as the theme to the film of the same name starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. It hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on August 11 in 1984, and stayed there for three weeks. An instrumental version of the song serves as the theme song for the spin-off cartoon series The Real Ghostbusters. Parker Jr. was approached by the film's producers to create a theme song for the film. Unfortunately, he only had a few days to do so and the film's title seemed impossible to include in any lyrics. However, when watching television late at night, Parker Jr. saw a cheap commercial for a local service that reminded him that the film had a similar commercial featured for the fictional business. This inspired him to write the song as a pseudo-advertising jingle that the business could have commissioned as a promotion. Vs. Tommy Tutone - Jenny (867-5309)"867-5309/Jenny" is a song written by Alex Call and Jim Keller and performed by Tommy Tutone that peaked at Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1982. Call came up with the name and number and completed the song with Keller. [1]
